Cool restaurant/bar right on the river front. This place has 3 separate areas: a dark indoor bar area when you first enter, a large middle indoor dining area and then a backside bar indoors that opens up in the summer to a large badl patio area for dining. There's free dock parking for boaters and a sand volleyball court out back too. If you're into gambling, there is a small dark room full of slot machines next to the back bathrooms.

I ate here with my husband late afternoon on a Sunday after visiting nearby Meadowcroft Rock Shelter and Historic Village. The enclosed indoor areas were completely empty, although the front indoor bar was still staffed despite no patrons sitting indoors. We were promptly greated upon entering the patio and told to seat ourselves and soon after greeted by our waitress. The service here was pretty good for it being busy, although we would have liked if the waitress checked on us a little more often than she did for drinks refills, bur was okay for the most part. The table was a bit dirty, but was wiped down upon request. Overall, the patio vibe was fun and had nice views of the river.

For dinner/late lunch, we shared the sweet potato fries, and then I had the ranch seasoned boneless wings, and my husband ordered the Titanic sub. The fries with the brown sugar dip were pretty good as were my boneless wings. My husband's sub was huge like a full size baguette about 2 feet long, so I'd recommend splitting or ordering the half size for hoagies. He said it was pretty good, and he'd rank it a 3.5/5. He felt it would be a little better without fries on top. For drinks, I ordered a basic mixed drink, and I felt it was pretty good.

Overall, this place had fairly good bar food and a fun vibe with fairly good service. If you're in the area on a nice summer day, I'd definitely recommend checking...

The Crooked Dock has always been one of my favorite restaurants to meet my friends who live in Wheeling since it is a good halfway point between there and Weirton. I’m only leaving this review in hopes that things will improve as I would love to continue to see this business thrive. Early Sunday my friends and I met here for a birthday lunch, I am well aware we had a larger party of 10 but we all got there around 11:30 AM, the restaurant was not busy, we were very patient and in no rush. Half of us ordered drinks right around 11:30 AM and didn’t get them until about 12:20 PM. Same thing happened with the second round of drinks and the third. Our waitress didn’t take our food order until around 1 PM. We were sat in the front room due to having a larger party which would have been fine if it wasn’t so hot in there plus we were surrounded by tables that still had their seats up as if they were closed which was off putting. The food was good, we didn’t get out of there until 2:30 - 3 hours from when we first arrived. I know that being understaffed could be a huge factor in our experience but there was a lack of management and team work as well. While our waitress juggled several tables in multiple areas of the restaurant, other waitresses and bartenders never offered to help her even though they were visibly not busy. I am disappointed in the service but like I said, I’ve always loved this restaurant and the location, I hope this review gets to the right person and...

This was my third time at this restaurant. First time was awesome. Second and third not so good. But this third time was by far the worst. We ordered the hamburger and fish sandwiches that come with one side for $10.95. My husband ordered his hamburger plain. It came out with toppings on it. We sent it back and it took about 45 minutes to make another hamburger!!! By then my husband was full just eating his fries. Who takes 45 minutes to make a hamburger? I never got my fries until about 30 minutes after I got my sandwich, which by then I was full and didn’t need the fries. . Needless to say we were very angry. My bill came. We paid and left. Never ate the hamburger and fries as we were full. Our server was Lizzy. She was very unapologetic with the situation. Asked if there was a manager to speak with and she replied that they did not have a manager. Really???? She just claiming that she was new and for me not to be mean to her. We paid and left. We realized about 10 minutes after leaving that Lizzy not only charged us for food that we didn’t get in a timely manner but that she also charged us additional for French fries that came with our meals!!! $5.95 each for a overcharge if $11.90!!! We will be calling about our check to make a complaint. Would not recommend. Service is awful. Food is mediocre. And staff doesn’t even know their own...

This is a nice big restaurant right by the water. The food and service is great. Before entering the building, my friend noticed a sign with a few rules. The third stated, "No colors of any kind." Naturally this statement caught our attention. I asked a worker what that meant and she told me it is for gang colors. If it had meant what we originally thought, we would not have stayed to eat. It crossed our minds not to go in at all. So, to the owners of this fine establishment, perhaps rewording that rule would make sense? No gang colors of any kind may clear up these misunderstandings. I'm sure we aren't the only ones taking it this way. That being said, we did have a good experience and our waitress was super sweet.

I went here with my family. Service was a little slow and the waitress didn’t really seem all there. We got the cheese balls and fried zucchini appetizer, which was very tasty. I got the grilled chicken sandwich with the cole slaw. Both were excellent. It is hard to find good cole slaw but it was very good here. I also stole some of the sweet potato and steak fries from my fam. Sweet pot fries were good but I wasn’t crazy about the steak fries. Too much potato for my liking. I would come back here again.
