Iâve been to Duck Donuts before in Raleigh, and I honestly love the idea of hot, fresh donuts. So when I found out they opened a location super close to my house, I was so excited.
I used to go get my morning coffee from my usual spot, but now that Duck Donuts is nearby, I figured Iâd switch it up.
I went around 7:30 or so, ordered my coffee and a couple donuts⌠and after a few minutes, the girl came back and said, âWeâre sorry⌠we donât have any coffee.â
At 8 AM?? I mean, I didnât even know how to react. I almost laughed. No coffee⌠at 8 in the morning? Thatâs literally coffee hour. I wouldâve honestly preferred if she said the machine broke or something, it wouldâve made more sense.
Anyway, I still took my donuts and what really made up for the experience was the sweet girl who made them. She actually came over, showed me the donuts in the box with the biggest smile. She was genuinely kind, and honestly? She deserves way more recognition. That kind of attitude makes a huge difference.
The donuts were great. But the coffee I was so looking forward to? Didnât happen. Just a âsorry, weâre out.â
Oh well. Still wishing them the best. Iâll probably give it...
Read morePros - the donuts are hot, fresh and very good
Cons - the experience was very poor
Wait time - There were 8 people working up front and it took 20 minutes to get 2 donuts. It is their first week in business, but it was very inefficient.
Friendliness - maybe we just got the grumpy staff; but not one team member said hello to us, smiled, or said we are so glad youâre here.
Cleanliness - it seemed as though the AC wasnât working, there were several flies swarming around, and some of the team members that prepared the donuts would touch their hats with their gloves on (leaving a residue of icing and powder) and then go right back to dipping donuts.
Atmosphere - very quiet. No music. No positive vibe. No engagement from staff. Just a bunch of people standing with arms crossed waiting for their order.
I wish this business the best and hope they become a staple in the community for a long time. However, it would be nice if they made some adjustments to make it a more pleasant customer...
Read moreA Worker cleaned the over head hood of the cooking station while donuts cooked directly underneath, spraying chemicals for the stainless steel hood all around the cooking donuts. I Mentioned it to the other worker and they agreed it probably wasnât best but didnât say anything or tell the guy to stop spraying chemicals around the preparation of food.
Iâm not sure if itâs lack of training or just lack of consideration. I have never in my life seen any thing like...
