Red Plate Diner — Restaurant in Wernersville

So what a pleasant surprise! Went here for breakfast today while my dogs were at the groomer. First thing I noticed was that the place was clean, and I mean really clean, like it sparkled! That's a pet peeve of mine, if the place is dirty I'll turn and walk out. Next, my waitress, CC, was so nice, very genuine. When my garden omelet came to the table I was literally open mouth dumbstruck! First off, the plate is enormous and the food FILLED every inch of it. The spinach was fresh leaf spinach, not chopped frozen, which, when used, always seems to make the omelet watery. The mushrooms were fresh portabellos, not canned. Green peppers and fresh tomatoes also werei n there. Undoubtedly the best omelet I've ever eaten in my life!!! Homefries were perfectly done, every one crispy brown. So many places have homefries which are nothing but warm boiled potatoes, ugh! My side of bacon was 3 pieces of perfectly crispy bacon. Coffee was REALLY good, not watered down like so many diners do. And the BEST thing about the whole meal was that it was HOT when it arrived. They have a gentleman in the back who ran the food out as soon as it was ready - LOVE that! Before leaving, I found out that CC is the manager here. She is to be congratulated. One other thing I noticed is that the girls all work as team. They were helping each other. Will definitely be back. ...

I realize this diner just open ed but I was there twice. The first time my wife and I had dinner towards the end of the week of opening week. The food was very good clean no real problems It took us a little while for them to figure out what waitress was going to be our server but once that was figured out we had a good meal No problem. I went in this morning to have breakfast I was greeted at the door by the hostess/owner She said wait just a minute she was working on a seating chart so she asked one of the other waitresses to seat me which she did and she said another waitress would be right with me. So I wait about 5 minutes another lady comes in and gets seated the waitress says she'll be right back so she comes back takes care of the lady that was seated after me In the meantime two people aside to me got their food another waitress past so now I've seen the hostess three waitresses no one ever said you want coffee you know I guess my waitress never came So after 14 minutes I got up quietly placed my menu on the stand and I left I realized they just opened but I figure everyone that was a waitress could at least greet and say hey I'll be right back or somebody will be with you but 14 minutes is unacceptable It was like I was invisible I will never go...

I like this place and I hope they stay in business. It is very very clean. Problem is they say they’re open till eight but if you call at 7:30 or 745 to get something simple like soup to go the kitchen is closed. They should stay open, at least until 8:30 (which would be 9 o’clock on the menu). And they are very nice. I know that I cannot get food after 730 so I placed an order at 3:15 and was stuck in traffic so I called and they were kind enough to put it in the refrigerator for me but I could not get a lunch order at 3:15 so I got the dinner portion which was supposed to come with two sides, but they forgot one side and forgot my salad dressing for my second side. I will definitely go back just their hours are a little difficult and the other thing is you definitely have to wait for a check but I will say the food has been good and the people are very nice. I think they’re a little bored. And who says they close at 8 o’clock but closes the kitchen at 7:30. OK then you close at 7:30 and kick people out at eight? If they are going to make it, they’re going to have to change the hours a little bit and I’m sorry even when they do have a customer employees...
