Corvina Wine Company — Restaurant in West Allis

Went in tonight with my friend from Arizona who rarely visits and had an awful experience. I wanted to show her one of my favorite places in West Allis and was shocked by the service from one of the bartenders. Nobody greeted us as we came and sat down and we were met with a glare from a blonde bartender medium height. She proceeded to skeptically look at our IDs, questioned us both, and made us feel completely unwelcome and uncomfortable. Trying not to let this ruin our night we went to sit down. The blonde bartender came up, asked us if we've been here before, and if we were familiar with “the paperwork”. We ordered our wines and my friend who has never been here before mispronounced a wine to which the blonde bartender proceeded to make fun of her for. If you are looking for a small quaint place to have a glass of wine or other spirits this is your place. The decor was very welcoming, I noticed people enjoy coming in to read a book with a glass of wine. When we went they didnt offer flights of wine to try, but did offer a sample for half the price of a glass of wine. Depending on your choice, a glass of wine ranges from $10 to $25. You can buy by the bottle. Their board offered cheese, pickles, olives, nuts and meats from different countries. One draw back if you need a restroom you have to be able to do a flight of stairs. These guys are super nice and the place is quaint and elegant for a date night or place to unwind. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is that they had a itemized event listing by week on their website that they had a live jazz musician and wine special 11/29 and they had neither and didn't remove the posting despite knowing a couple days before the musician couldn't make it. If they at least honored their advertised "wine specials" despite the musician cancelling it would've been 5 star.
