Curious if anyone else has had this issue with Pearl Of Canton. I never have used doordash. My husband and I had an extremely busy weekend and decided let’s try takeout. We hear nothing but good things about this place. I went to THEIR website. It gave me the option to pick delivery. I ordered and it was delivered. Apparently they use doordash and the driver didn’t check out with anyone there took my bag but my sushi bag was missing. So I called them letting them know my sushi was missing. I was told since I used doordash I had to call doordash and get a refund or get it redelivered. Since I don’t use doordash or any other delivery service this was all completed from THEIR WEBSITE. I had to search for a phone #. Called door dash. Doordash put me on hold to call Pearl of Canton to verify which they did verify my missing order. The representative told me the assistant manager would be calling me to refund me or have it redelivered within 5 mins. As soon as I hung up I got the phone call. The assistant manager told me that since I used door dash they would not refund my missing items because it was the drivers fault for not checking in or I could pick up. I explained to the manager that this should not fall on the customer. I ordered from THEIR website. I don’t have a doordash account what so ever and it was all done on their website. She sat there and argued with me about it. I couldn’t even get a word in. This was the second time I gave this place a shot and I will not be back. The first time was a year and half ago and our order was delivered and half the order was missing. I explained that to her and she proceeded to tell me that was their old system and she didn’t care and she wasn’t refunding me. This is completely poor customer service, she was extremely unprofessional and rude. This should not even fall onto my lap. Doordash refuses to refund me and so does the restaurant. Read morePearl of Canton Hartford I went in on New Year's Eve and had the most horrible experience. I sat down with my date, and got a menu. The waitress came by twice asking if we were ready, seeing that we were looking at the drink menu and the third time she came by, she told us that there was no alcoholic beverages served (only beer and wine)(although she saw us looking at the "specialty drink" menu the whole time). After thinking about it I decided to get a Blue Moon and my date got a Cabernet. We proceeded to look at appetizers. I was particularly looking at the sushi and specialty rolls. Again she came by once or twice asking if we were ready to order and the second or third time, she informed us all... By the way, "we are not serving any sushi or sushi rolls tonight!!!" So now I'm thinking oh great, that would have been all good information to know before or, at least when we were seated. So, now...I reverted back to the appetizer menu and we agreed on an order of potstickers. They came pretty quickly. The waitress put the appetizer between us and walked away without giving us any plates. So, I had to find plates at an empty table. She also didn't offer any chopsticks. So I had to ask for those too. I finally got excited to eat and bit into my potsticker and it was very cold. Then he noticed a fruit fly swarming around our appetizer so me, and my date started swatting at it. We finally killed it and I did finish my appetizer because I hadn't eaten all day and I was starving. Needless to say, there was no dinner ordered and we left promptly after that without finishing my Blue Moon (that was served with out of glass or an orange garnish!!) Read moreI have been wanting to come to your establishment since it opened that was several years ago. Tonight was the first time and it was not a good experience.!!! we ordered crispy eggrolls and Rangoon for appetizers. They came in room, temperature and burnt. It looks like they have been cooked earlier in the day or yesterday, and warmed up for me.!!! they were burnt on the outside, burnt on the edges of the Rangoon and of course the waitress was offended and after I said four times that this is not fresh food because she wanted to argue with me she planning to come back. We both ordered chicken sesame and again the broccoli was cold. The chicken was room temperature. The rice was just one big glob, and there was barely any sauce on the plate. We had to wrestle down somebody to help with that because our waitress never came back and help with anything no salt and pepper. I had to go up to the front to finder to get knives, she just seem put off by us and like we were an inconvenience for her. The food was just plain blah and I had a hunch on that same girl that got me the pepper for refills on water because our way just couldn’t be fine. she was too busy talking to other people at the bar. !!! I have friends that love it there, but this is not a good experience. I wanted to do the two girls that help with the water in the salt and I didn’t leave anything for the waitress who took care of me because she didn’t take care of me this is one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a so-called nice restaurant!!!
