We went to this resturant because the i.g and tiktok made the food look delicious and authentic but we should have known better that it was just a hype. For full honesty, place look great inside, they had some cloth chairs that were cute but were dirty. Maybe cloth isnt a good idea to have on seats. menus were sticky and had food all over them. We ordered food ( i ordered flautes and one shrimp taco, he ordered a burrito and 2 queso birria tacos and we shared a mango slush drink and asked for 2 waters)and it took forever to get. The mango slush drink came out first, it was a good size and tasted great. Me and my fiance shared it while we waited for our food. Finally after a hlf hr, i got my flautas... none of his food arrived or did my single taco or waters. i didnt want to eat without him but it took another half hour for the rest of the food to come and he didnt want my food to get soggy so i ate. The tacos were not birria style so we sent back, the shrimp taco ( i dont remember the name of taco on menu) was very very fishy tasting, not really a shrimp flavor, typically i dont send food back and im definetly not a picky eater but because the tacos were $6 each i just felt like i had to return it because it was not good. Lastly, probably the worse thing was the bathroom! Its thru the kitchen. U have to walk by them cooking, u walk right by peoples food waiting to be taken out and on top of that, the restroom is soooo disgusting. For how nice and decorative the front looked, you would think the restroom was decent. Honestly, i just would not offer the bathroom to customers if it meant them having to walk thru the kitchen passed peoples food just for the bathroom to be nasty. Overall, i wouldnt go back. Flautas were good, you could tell the meat was old because it was kind of crunchy but still it was good, my fiance was not a fan of his burrito but said it did have flavor. If they can work on the timeframe of food arriving to tables, pricing tacos a bit less ( i understand inflation, but $6 tacos???)and getting that restroom cleaned up, it would be...
Read moreI came here over the weekend around 2pm. The restaurant was at a decent capacity with seats still available. Outside was empty so we decided to sit outside. The wait took 40 mins.
I usually do not complain but we are talking about tacos and fries here. On top of that we would get one plate, then have to wait 5-10 mins for someone else's plate. It might not seem like a lot but everyone knows how it feels when one person has food in front of them and everyone else is waiting.
On top of that we had at least 5 different servers. This usually does not bother me but no one was on was on the same page. They would parade our food to other tables asking if they were the ones who ordered it.
I finally received my fry. It had a hair in it :(...
Honestly, save yourself from buying a $16 burrito and find a spot that actually had good food for half the price. The concept is cool, the marketing on their social media is great. Kudos to who runs the account. But service takes all that and throws it out the window.
I'm glad I tried it. Sad it costed $60 for a burrito, fry and two water drinks. I will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone.
I am being told other locations are...
Read moreLet's start off by stating the obvious: this place is expensive. From the food to the drinks. That said, it's worth it for a single person. If you're taking a family you're gonna spend at few dollars.
The pastor taco was delicious. I don't care what people say, pineapple does belong on a taco. They have a wide variety of tacos with your choice of meat, so if pineapple isn't your thing, you can choose a different taco.
The sope was a bit if a miss. Everything was right except the shell. It felt like it was microwaved, and was floppy the entire time. Didn't hold up any of the toppings. And it wasn't from sitting out too long either, because it wasn't soggy. I guess I can ask for it well done next time.
They serve "shots", but be warned these contain no liquor. They are a tequila wine, aka not as much alcohol as actual tequila. That said their are cheaper than actual tequila shots. The micheladas are extravagant, and the price to match. It's a shame if you just want a basic michelada with no frills.
Overall I'd come back, but I'm just waiting for the Whittier location to open so I don't have to drive...
