aroogas had advertised on multiple social media platforms since 2/6 that they will be streaming ufc312 on 2/8, including this location in their captions. the whole central PA area had been preparing, notifying citizens to expect winter weather conditions on the evening of 2/8 for days prior. though it did snow, sleet, had freezing rain that night a few of us decided to drive out to this location since it was very close by in anticipation for ufc312. once arrived, we sat towards the back area (completely free of other customers, we had this area to ourselves) and started to order food and watch the prelims of ufc that was showing on one small TV (out of at least 4 big screened TVs, and at least 8 smaller TVs). the channel switched off of ufc once the main event started. we had asked if ufc could be turned on as it was the sole reason why we drove in poor weather conditions and had spent money on mediocre food, and were told that this could not be accommodated. per multiple staff, we continued to receive reports that the manager continued to refuse to put ufc on due to “not having enough customers wanting to watch ufc”. i would like to note that again, we were the only party present in the back area and completely separate from the bar area that had the remaining customers. to deny putting on ufc especially after publicly advertising the event for days is completely unprofessional and simply providing false information. more importantly, this location has proven to me that they only care about money - they would rather save $80 by false advertising than care about the satisfaction and loyalty of their customers. also, numerous rats were running around right outside of our area - all over the bonfires and chairs that are for arooga customer usage. very disappointing, deplorable behavior from the manager and his decision making

My wife and I were up at camper world picking up a part for our camper. Apond leaving we started looking for a place to eat and have a beer. We seen Arooga's and thought we'd check it out. When we walked in, we weren't quite sure where to go. We walked into a room that lead to where the bar was. When we sat down at the bar and waited for service. While sitting there, three other guys walked in and sat a few seats away. By this time it's been about 5 minutes. When the server finally came over, she served the three guys first. Even though we were there a few minutes prior. We did finally get served, and she took our food order. She asked me how I would like my burger, pink, or dun. My reply was dun no pink. My wife ordered a tray of nachos for her meal. When getting my burger, it was pink inside. My wife's nachos where not warm or crunchy. We ate our food anyways because we didn't want to complain. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but for me the food was not the greatest. And who puts cheese whiz on a cheese steak sandwich!? While sitting there finishing up, we over heard the manager talking to someone on the phone about the roof leaking. He told the person on the phone that when it rains it leaks bad. You could actually see water damage on the ceiling. I wouldn't want to be a patriot sitting there eating while it rains not knowing what could happen. Me personally I don't think I will go back there again. Maybe if it's the only place open at the time.

Should I start with the bad or the good? I'll start with the good. Its obvious the owner takes pride in his/her establishment because the place was nicely set up. The food was I would say is a tad over average, but exceptional. Now for the bad. The bartenders can't possibly old enough to serve drinks, because there was soo much childish behavior behind the bar in front of the guest. For one, it's a fight to get their attention if your not a regular I assume. When we finally did get the one bartenders attention, and we began to order, the other bartender interrupted my wife mid sentence to show the bartender helping us, something on her Facebook. It was the most rude experience I've ever had, no excuse me, she didn't even try to make it look important. It was as if her Facebook was more important than the guest. I even had enough time to take a picture while they had side conversation, while we continued to wait to order. Also a elderly guest wet himself on the way out the door and, they decided best option was a wet floor sign and let it air dry. This place could easily get 5 stars out of me but the two bartenders behavior was completely rude, childish, and unexceptional. The cook, and the bartender are the face of the establishment, and more so the bartender. Get some real bartenders. And you'll have a fantastic place to unwind and watch some sports.

Me and my girlfriend were extremely excited to lay back and have a dine in experience before we drove two hours home, we stopped by aroogas as it was my birthday and it looked delicious! We saw that they were understaffed and kept that in mind and I totally understand if our food was slow or if they were busy. However our waiter was very inexperienced, which was fine. However, Our order was never put through, we waited for 30 minutes and then the waiter noticed and put it through for us. It was kind of aggravating but not a huge deal for us, although honestly I expected any kind of compensation to be honest, I'm not saying a free meal but maybe like some sodas or just something for wasting literally half an hour? like I said it was fine we kept positive. It seems that because of our order never going through the cooks worked extra fast to make our order which I appreciate, the only problem being that the waiter took off the buns of my girlfriends burger so she was served only a patty (i don't understand how or why this happened), and the burger was cold. I also didn't have utensils given to me for the ribs, the cook even said to the waiter to give me utensils and he forgot so I had to approach another waiter just to give them to me. I also had to approach the waiter to give me the ceaser dressing that never came with our ceasear salad. At this point I was agitated and felt pretty frustrated considering we dropped almost 60 bucks there. Near the end our waiter forgot to give us a tab, I had to approach him two different times just to pay for my food. I also had to ask him three seperate times for takeout boxes. It left a sour taste in my mouth and honestly ruined my night, I'm not a confrontational person so having to ask to bare essentials at a restraunt was uncomfortable for me and my girlfriend. Its the only case where the service was so poor that it overrided any joy I had eating the food. I felt conflicted writing this, I know they were short staffed but there were only give or take four people in the restraunt (although the bar was busier) and I know the waiter I had was new, if anything I believe its not fully his fault, he definitely barley had any oversight or help from my knowledge and was doing his best. This is unfortunately a visit that I regretted, I hope they can get their staff up and possibly better organization as the food that was hot was very solid! Overall probably my worst restraunt...

Jan 2nd went to Allentown Road location at the request of my granddaughter for her birthday,,,,,it was chilly in the dining area so requested a booth ,,,,,the one we pointed out was dirty,,,,,,was told by server she was busy and I'm assuming implying she had no time to clear or clean the tables that needed it,,,,,now mind you ,,,,,my daughter and I are both in the F&B/Food Service industry and to us it was not busy,,,,,,,sat down ordered water all around,,,,,,water delivered,,,then ordered,,,,,,Impossible Chili Nachos,,,,,,no cheddar or mozzarella,,,,,,lots of Cheez Whiz instead!!!!!,,,,,no tomatoes,,,jalapeños on side,,,,,extra sour cream cheese quesidilla w/carrots and ranch for granddaughter. Daughter also ordered a Pepsi at this point So food gets delivered By someone not our server,,,,,nachos not as ordered ,,,,AT ALL! 😡 No cheez Whiz that the server assured us she would take care of ,,,, No ranch for carrots,,,no jalapeños or extra sour cream with order. We had 2 sets or silverware,,,there were 3 of us,,,,,,had asked server for another set which never came before food. No plates were given to us either,,,we brought this all to the attention of the guy who brought out our food. Another server brought the plates and another silverware roll. Then the guy who bought food brought out missing items from order,,,,,,,,still no Pepsi and server never came to check on us,,,,now mind you at this point there were maybe one other table sat and some who left,,,,still not busy enough to warrant the horrible service we were received,,,,,,,,over heard a table in front of us questioning where thier drinks were,,,,table behind us had to get up from table to get server to get her attention for their bill,,,,I turned and asked if they were getting the same service we were,,,,NONE!! They said yes,,,,,,,the owner/manager should be embarrassed,,,,,,,,,the sad thing is the service we received is a direct reflection of the establishment WILL NEVER RETURN and our tip definitely reflected the service we received Server was...
