I rolled up to Mitchell knowing I’d chosen wisely the moment I saw two West Memphis city police officers parked outside, happily munching burritos on their break. If it’s good enough for the guys who know every hidden food gem in town, it’s definitely good enough for me. I went all in and ordered Gailene’s Meat Lovin’ Burrito (because why pick one meat when you can have the whole squad?). This monster is packed—sausage, bacon, ham, and more, all tucked inside like a meaty surprise party. The sausage stood out especially—it had this bold, well-seasoned flavor that didn’t just play backup, it sang lead vocals. And then there were the eggs, not those sad, powdery scramble imposters you sometimes find at fast-food chains—these were the real deal, fluffy, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. Everything inside worked together like a breakfast symphony wrapped in a tortilla, plus a hash brown patty on the side. And let me just say—this hash brown isn’t your average frozen hockey puck. Nope. Before I even hit it with ketchupI, I took a bite and realized it had already been seasoned with herbs and spices like some kind of potato sorcery. Crispy, golden, and perfectly seasoned—definitely something you must order. As busy as the place was, my food still came out in about 11 minutes, which is impressive considering everything is made fresh to order. The cashier, Titi, greeted me with a smile that made me forget momentarily that Arkansas sales tax is an eye-popping 12.75% (I checked twice, thought I was being punked). I asked her what burrito is the most popular, and she said I nailed it with the Meat Lovin’, but also recommended Karen’s Maple Delight Burrito—which I’ll have to try next time. One detail I loved: they grill the tortilla before serving, so you get this magical contrast of a soft, chewy inside wrapped in a thin, crisp shell that holds all those fabulous fillings together. They even offer turkey and plant-based options for those wanting to keep it lighter—but let’s be honest, I came for the heavy hitters. Fun fact: Owner Rob, a Christian man with a big smile and even bigger burrito vision, makes sure all the seasoning blends and salsas are created in-house. That’s why everything tastes like it’s made with extra care. He’s also about to open another location in Memphis, TN. I grabbed a cute T-shirt on the way out—because supporting small businesses looks good on me. Oh, and a pro tip: they close at 2 PM sharp, because after working those early hours Rob goes home to his wife, Loretta—well deserved! Safe to say, Mitchell’s is now firmly on my “regular stop” list. And next time, I might even eat my burrito in the parking lot just to blend in with the locals. If you would like to read more of my foodie adventures check out Substack...

A MUST STOP!!

We stopped by Mitchell’s on our way back to Virginia and let me tell you… THE BEST BREAKFAST BURRITOS EVER!!!

The entire experience was awesome. The owner greeted us and came out to go over the menu. He explained how each item was named after a member of his family and had a sweet family photo posted on the wall. We loved the personal touch!

My husband and I ordered Kay’s 3 Alarm and Karen’s Maple Delight so we could share and have both! Who can pick just one?? Both were cooked beautifully and wrapped expertly and SO FULL OF FLAVOR. The Kay’s packed the spicy punch it promised. I loved it! The Karen was savory and slightly sweet with a touch of cinnamon. Perfection! My daughter ordered the Bernadine’s Shrimp and Avocado. When we asked her how it was, her response was “soooooo good!”

We each got a hash brown side and, again, perfection. I am not one that typically orders hash browns but man, am I glad I did! They were fried with crispy edges and so well seasoned! Delicious!

After reading reviews about the cookies, I had to order one. They were fresh from the oven. They had Reese’s cups on top. I mean…. Heaven!

If you are anywhere near West Memphis you seriously have to try out this shop! This place is...

Had the Kay's 3 Alarm, Gailene's meat lovin, and the Karen's maple delight burritos. All 3 were delicious!! Make sure if you get the Gailene's meat lovin burrito to ask for grilled onions and peppers. Your taste buds and your stomach will thank you. I also added mushrooms to mine because...mushrooms.

The Kay's 3 alarm wasn't as hot as the name suggests, which is a good thing but it'll definitely put some pep in your step.

The Karen's maple delight was indeed a delight. Ialmost messed up and had them add onions and peppers to this one. Don't!! The maple syrup and cinnamon really set this burrito off!! If you're ever looking for a true breakfast burrito this is what you're looking for. The other two could pass for brunch/lunch but this one is the one you want for breakfast. Eggs, sausage, hash browns, AND maple syrup! Stop playing with them!! I'll definitely be back to try some of the other menu items.

Oh and you better get there early because this place doesn't stay open very long. The best...

Aug. 16, 2021 My wife and I visited Michael's Breakfast Burritos. We thought the place was very clean and nice looking. The owner was very respectful and helpful. Our order was up in no time at all. The burritos are excellent and worth the price. Currently, if you pay with cash, you get a 4% discount. We will return to try other mouth watering burritos and specialties from the menu soon. The only suggestion I can think of is that someone needs to post a sign on the corner of Missouri St and Thompson. "Mitchell's Breakfast Burritos" under the name in BIG BOLD Red letters it should say, "OPEN", with an arrow pointing the way. If it weren't for searching Google for restaurants, hard saying how long it may have been before learning of the business. Please go and enjoy! Best and biggest burritos I've seen in town.

Let's start with the service. When we walked into the door, we felt welcomed and almost like family. Outstanding, friendly, and welcoming! They took their time and walked us through where the names of dishes originated from family members, super cute concept. The food was good, and they were patient making adjustments for the very picky eater in my party. I had the Gailene's, and let me tell you, it was packed with meat and flavor! I also tried the Karen, a bit on the sweet side for me, but it was flavorful. It would have been nice if there were some sit-down tables, I was enjoying the company, but prefer to sit while eating. Nice family-owned local joint. I highly recommend giving them a try if you're in the area.
