We are on a mission to find North Jersey's BEST Margarita Pizza, Grandma and Grandpa pizzas. Recently, we gave DeMarco's Pizzeria & Restaurant, Hewitt, NJ a try. We ordered Margartia and Sicilian pies. Note: DeMarco's did not have grandma or grandpa pies on the menu so went with a traditional sicilian pie instead. Up first, the Margarita pie: very little taste. We were hopeful; it looked like it was going to taste good! The crust was thin but was very soggy. The basil was cooked on which lost its taste in the process. The fresh mozzarella cheese was perfectly placed. The sauce, though, did not have much taste to it. With the sogginess and lack of taste we can't give this pie a high rating.
The Sicilian pie was much better. The crust was cooked PERFECTLY. So far, the best tasting crust we've had on a "thicker pie." The cheese was lumped on which wasn't a big deal if you love a lot of cheese on a Scicillian pie. The only downfall was the sauce, again. It just didn't have any flavor to it. Overall, we do recommend the Sicilian pie!

Tonight, Maryann & I celebrated our Valentine's Day at our favorite Italian restaurant (we brought our bottle of red). The specials menu was presented by a beautiful new waitress. The cold antipasto was amazing; Imagine a chef salad drizzled with balsamic vinegar, fresh mozzarella and sliced pepperoni. For dinner, again off the specials menu, I devoured the teriyaki, pineapple roasted red peppers chicken over capellini. Maryann ate a customized fettuccine pesto with shrimp (hold the shrimp and add chicken cutlets). Both entrees were amazing. They came with soup or salad so we had a French onion soup and a chicken & rice soup. The soup was so good I ordered a quart to take home. The dessert was a delicious cannoli. I couldn't get enough of the delicious food. Behind the scenes I heard people were getting heart...
Read moreThe service and quality varies - sometimes they’re great, sometimes just ok. After tonight, we’ll never order from them again. We’ve been traveling all day, had unexpected delays, and are exhausted... just wanted a simple pizza delivered so we can unpack, relax and go to bed early. And we just waited an hour and a half for a COLD PIZZA!! I called to ask about the status after an hour and five minutes and they told me that the delivery person left but had a few other deliveries before ours. Where, California?! It’s a Tuesday, guys. Seriously unhappy and wishing I had ordered pickup at Franks instead. Never again. An hour and a half is insane. We should have been advised of the delay when we called in case we weren’t up for the wait... or cold pizza... which we...
