Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in West Orange

Jersey Mike's has many terrific sandwich shops across this great country of ours. However I can say with all certainty that there is no better Jersey Mike's than the one located on Prospect Avenue in West Orange, New Jersey. I have been a regular customer there since it opened in 2014 and I have never been disappointed. Every sandwich I have ordered has been terrific (I recommend the Portobello Mushroom and Swiss. That sandwich is so highly addictive that the Surgeon General should put a warning on it.). It's not just the sandwiches that are great. The staff at this particular location is excellent in the truest sense of the word. The manager of the shop is named Lisa. She treats her customers and her staff with the utmost respect. Lisa is not only a great manager, she is a great person. The same can be said for the shop's Assistant Manager Romaine (If you are reading this review Romaine, I apologize if I have spelled your name incorrectly.). He is just as a great a manager and as great a person as Lisa is. There have been many times when I have visited the shop that the staff is very busy. I am amazed at what a great they job they do keeping up the pace. Despite that they make every effort to make sure they get every order correct and I think that is just phenomenal. I guess you can figure out that I highly recommend the Jersey Mike's Subs location on Prospect Avenue in West orange. How...how on earth can someone give this place a good review? I waited 35 minutes for sandwich today. I tried the place a week prior and waited 25. I wasn't waiting because the line was out the door and it was just setting records for a crowd. There was 8 customers ahead of me. The staff is behind clueless. There is 0 strategy to how they take orders, if they write them down, if they ask you to customize the sandwich etc. The cashier was moving at a snails pace, sandwiches just building up next to him as took his time and chatted with co-workers (not questions like "hey this is my first day" more like "yo did you see that game last night?"). OF COURSE they made my sandwich wrong, which in itself is insane...theres like 5 total options. Both had cheese when I very specifically said no cheese and both were on wrong bread LOL there's 3 bread options. Now a sandwich place CAN have all this go wrong and STILL get a good review...but it has to be an unreal sandwich. 30 minute wait, horribly trained staff, wrong bread, cheese added...but maybe it's so damn delicious? MY FIRST TIME AT JERSEY MIKES BECAUSE MY MOTHER WANTED A SANDWICH FROM THERE.THEY CHARGED ME FOR A GIANT SANDWICH WHEN I ORDERED A REGULAR FOR A TURKEY AND CHESSE FOR $38 FOR 2 SANDWICHES. I SAID REGULAR LIKE 3 X. I DONT EAT PORK SO I SAW HER MAKING ANOTHER SANDWICH WITH HAM THEN SHE PUT THE TURKEY ON THE SAME SLICER AND DIDNT WASH THE SLICER OFF OR CHANGE HER GLOVES, SO I BROUGHT IT TO HER ATTENTION AND I THINK SHE GOT AN ATTITUDE MAYBE THATS WHY THEY CHARGED ME FOR A GIANT SANDWICH. AFTER I PAID THE 38 DOLLARS IT DIDNT CLICK WHY IT WAS SO EXPENSIVE FOR 2 REGULAR SANDWICHES AFTER I REALIZED THE RECEIPT SAID GIANT I WENT BACK IN THE STORE AND ASKED THE MANAGER WHY DID YOU CHARGE ME FOR A GIANT WHEN I ORDERED 2 REGULAR SANDWICHES AND HER RESPONSE WAS "I GAVE YOU A GIANT" SHE GAVE ME $20 BACK THEY KNEW THEY MESSED UP AND SHE SAID "IM NOT TRYING TO ARGUE BACK AND FORTH" HONESTLY I DONT KNOW WHAT A REGULAR VS GIANT EVEN LOOKS LIKE I JUST KNOW WHAT I ASKED FOR.. MAYBE BECAUSE I SAID IT WAS MY FIRST TIME THERE TO THEM THEY FIGURED THEY WOULD UP CHARGE ME, I AM A FULLTIME STUDENT AND I NEED ALL MY COINS... SMH I HAD TIME TODAY TO WRITE...
