La Galera Centro Americana Restaurant — Restaurant in West Orange

I had the misfortune of eating here last evening!

The food was sparse and stale! The yellow had absolutely no flavor and was greasy! The red beans were stale and flavorless!

The Tilapia was no of poor quality and no doubt frozen! The only flavor found in it was too much salt!

The restaurant could be cute if one didn't have to fight to keep flies and other flying insects off the plate of food.

[I also, I noticed that other customers received portions 3x larger than what was put on my plate! I have to wonder if this is because I am not Salvadoran and perhaps perceived to be from no other spanish speaking country.

If so that is prejudice which I resent!!! I am a customer! I should receive the exact same customer experience ( which includes portion size) as every other customer!

I am someone who has taken my own money and put Salvadorans new to this country in businesses for themselves!

I am some who has fostered Savadoran families, which allowed them to remain together with their family, and retain their homes and belongings!

To be treated this way is true eye opener! Apparently, I needed to learn the character of some of the people I freaking supported for almost 30 years!]

Lastly, this is one of several spanish restaurants I have dined in West Orange and Montclair that were completely ABYSSMAL!

I will never patronize these resaturants again! I spend my hard earned money trying to support the small and family businesses and am served garbage and treated like garbage!

I will sooner see them all go out of person! There are nice people to be found from all countries! I will patronize the establishments that show me the welcome I deserve. I will patronize the establishments that serve me the clean and edible meal...

I went to La Galera Centro Americana restaurant about two weeks ago and I must say I felt in love with this restaurant. The food was awesome, the seasoning was just perfect and the "Pico de gallo" was to die for. I went with my friend for an early dinner and we order a steak with rice, beans, pico de gallo and a shrimp salad. The food tasted amazing. They served us so much food that we had to take most of it home because we got so stuffed. The staff is so friendly and the owner make us feel right at home. The other day I got, La Galera Centro Americana Restaurant, for lunch. I ordered their Meatballs w/ Black Rice & Red Beans. It was absolutely delicious! I asked the lady for more veggies than rice, and she happily obliged. I really loved their Meatballs, and also the Red Beans. Excellent flavors to combine. The ladies at the front desk were really nice and attentive. It seems like a nice, quaint, family type of place to eat. And for just a little over $10 was a complete steal.
