Chef Tally World Famous Jerk Chicken — Restaurant in West Park

… This could not be the same Chef Tally that I had many years ago. I ordered their 3 m platter (jerk chicken, jerk pork, and jerk St. Louis ribs.), and a small jerk chicken. Nothing had any real flavor. Play Jack flour was just about nonexistent. The seasoning profile was quite insipid… Even a little bit of salt would have been great. It was smoky, but that was really it. I know wood is expensive, but they definitely would have benefited from using something more than just post oak; a couple of logs of pecan, apple, cherry, or something else to give it a little “oomph”. For me, this was nothing like traditional jerk that I’ve grown up enjoying in Jamaica. The sauces, however, were great! Really, the only saving grace of the meal. The staff was friendly, and took my order relatively quickly. The food came out within a couple of minutes. The set up is a bit of a makeshift outside eatery. Nothing spectacular, but it gets the job done. I’m not sure if they’ve changed recipes over the years, or something else happened, but from what I’ve tasted, this was nothing like what I’ve had years back, and definitely not worth the 4.7 rating that they do...

Even with a standard 20 to 30 min wait and no real seating area...yea 5 stars folks. If you dont know then you really are missing out on life and should be thankful you have stumbled upon this jem and more importantly this review. If you are planning to go...just do it. Wait in the line and enjoy some of the tastiest grilled meats jerked to perfection. While they were out of the pork when I went, I was still able to devour ribs and chicken...Fan-f@&kin-tastic. The veteran in the group told me no matter how much sauce you put on it, you will always get home and wish you had more....challenge accepted! I doused my plate like I was a fireman putting out a 4 alarm blaze! (You should too). Yet to my dismay I still failed because even after I took the 45 min ride back home slowly devouring pieces of roasted deliciousness here and there (they give you soooooooooooooooooooooo much too for the price. my plate turned into 3 solid meals) Once i was home...I too wished I had put more sauce. While the mission was complete I still lost the battle but I will return to claim victory. Not sure what I just wrote as I have decided I am stopping to...

Very rude service. They stopped the entire line for 30 minutes to take care of a few woman that just walked up. They completely ignored everyone else in the line. When I tried to place an order the girl ignored me and kept walking. I drove 45 minutes and won't be back. They did not communicate to us advising us of anything. They just left us in the line with no communication at all. If you are saying it was a catering order then you could have advised your loyal customers of this instead of ignoring us for 30 Minutes. And I saw the bags that the 4 girls walked away with. It was not a catering order. It was 4 small lemonades and each girl had an individual bag. I understand you may have "VIP" customers but that definitely wasn't the way to handle it. The girl at the register was not the rude one. It was another girl that ignored me when I was trying to order a water because I was about to pass out from standing in the heat so long....
