Fat Katz Bar and Grill — Restaurant in West Tawakoni

This place was recommended by a dear friend, who later revealed they only ever had one appetizer from the menu. We ordered the Road kill and the meat was old on the verge of being rotten but it’s hard to tell with it smothered in cheese/onions/mushrooms/gravy and the Mac cheese had a very distinct “wang” taste that made me uncomfortable as well. But I hate to say that wasn’t even the worst part of our meal! The gator balls came out the first time undercooked, cold in the middle. Then we ordered catfish that was cooked in old/dirty grease and it had more breading than fish filets, the hush puppies were burnt but the side salad was delightful. The staff offered to take the 2 catfish meals off our check but we insisted on paying and expressed we would not be back. Ironically when the “owner” approached my brother to offer an apology he had the audacity to offer him a job as the cook!!!! This seemed so ridiculous to me, and as my brother explained they couldn’t afford to pay him near enough for his career field is dentistry not the restraunt industry, he just enjoys fishing and cooking as a personal hobby. My Husband and I have a great new place to eat! The food is termindious! So far I had The beefy nachos with everything unsweetened tea with lemon. Next I had the Patty melt with fries or ( you can get tots or Onion Rings) , house salad with blue cheese dressing. My Husband had the( 4 piece fried catfish, hush puppies, double tots (because he doesn't like slaw) Next time I had The Road Kill dinner ( yes! I said road kill lolol! Anyways!) it's a (Hamburger steak with Provolone cheese and mushrooms on top you get brown gravy) And 2 sides I choice Broccoli steamed and fried okra with texas toast.My husband had the fried Chicken tenders about 4 and Double tater tots and Texas toast . Yesterday! I had The Reuben (, on marble rye bread thats toasted, in it was mushrooms, cornbeef, sauerkraut thousand island dressing ) with tots and unsweetened tea with lemon. I went in with pretty high hopes for this place. We were looking forward to fried cheesecake per the online menu. Our waitress was friendly enough but never gave us her name.

We ordered 2 burgers with fries. Half an hour after we ordered, the waitress told us that someone else's order had been screwed up so they got our food. I told her that was okay and we weren't in a huge rush. 15 minutes later, she said it would still be awhile so I asked if we could get our fries right away. She ignored me. Another 15 minutes went by and she said it would only be a few more.. we still didn't get our fries. Once we did get our food, it wasn't right and the fries were cold 😑

The waitress looked at it, said "sorry, I told the kitchen not to make it that way" then she walked away.. The fried cheesecake wasn't on the menu and given our dinner experience we didn't bother to try and order it.
