The pizza special was 1 large 2 toppings pizza for $9.99. We asked the waitress if we could do 1/2 sausage & 1/2 pepperoni for the special she said yes. When we got our bill they charged us 13.45 for the 1/2 & 1/2 not 9.99. I explained that to the owners daughter at check out. She didn’t care said a 1/2 & 1/2 is not the special and wouldn’t stand behind what her her waitress said. She also got her father involved he said very loudly just pay your bill and leave. It was very strange that they got so upset about $3.45. They wouldn’t even compromise, say split the difference which would’ve made me happier. I’m sorry but I will never return and I...

When you walk in, it usually isn't very busy and you are greeted warmly by a member of the staff before the door closes behind you. Cozy place; you have your pick of table or booth. They have high chairs for the little ones, too. The very back of the restaurant can be reserved for groups. Everything we have ordered so far on the two trips we have taken there has been absolutely delicious. I normally don't order dessert while dining out; however, I highly recommend the desserts here. Try the fresh strawberry pie-it's my...

Gus and Tony's is a West Union staple holding the community together with consistently great food and service! Today the three of us had the Chef Salads, two with Chicken and Ranch and one with Ham and Blue Cheese dressing. The salads were very fresh and crisp. We also had a piece of Gus and Tony's famous pies. Today we shared Rhubarb pie. It was so good it didn't last long enough to get a photo. Yes, it was the last piece of Rhubarb they had, so no option to get a...

They have a poster on the wall that says, "Best gyros in town." That got my curiosity because it's the last thing I expected from a restaurant in rural Iowa. The gyro sandwich did not disappoint. The fried pita bread sets it apart from other gyros I've had, and they make their own tzatziki sauce. The owner is of Greek heritage, and you can sense the pride they have in their restaurant. The wait staff is nice. I've had other sandwiches here, but I recommend the gyros most.

Local restaurant known for having homemade dishes. Felt a bit old inside but that is part of the charm. Recommended to try the hot beef sandwiches and house pizza. Wasn't sure how the daily chicken enchilada soup would be but surprisingly tasty with a kick of heat. All food we had was good and filling. Not too many eating places in this town but if ever around would recommend stopping here.
