I really want to like this place, but for whatever reason they can’t take advantage of their prime location. In past visits, I’ve found the pizzas to be overpriced for what you get considering the taste. Cooper sharp cheese has become a delicacy in southeast PA, but Revival’s iteration of it on their cheesesteaks somehow doesn’t taste like a genuine cooper sharp blend. This time, I opted for the chicken Alfredo pasta to switch it up, and ordered a beer while waiting. Unfortunately, the beer I ordered from the draft list was kicked and replaced with something else. Happens. Didn’t understand why the draft list didn’t have prices with it, but every other alcoholic beverage did. Once I got my entree, it was pretty bizarre that half the plate was filled with 3 pieces of toasted sesame bread, and the other half was the actual dish I ordered. A sleight of hand move like no other to offer up a bigger plate in an attempt to justify the $23 price point. Pasta was okay! Chicken however tasted like it took a swim at the Jersey shore with how salted it was. The best thing I could do was have the chicken do barrel rolls in the Alfredo sauce to get the salt off. Food continues to be uninspiring.
The concept is there; a casual atmosphere with pizza, drinks, and bar food for a community that’s been starved of a nearby hangout spot that isn’t as formal as Ludwig’s. Hopefully they’ll get it right one day, but until then, the extra 10 minutes it takes to get to Magerks, or even an additional 5 to get to Liberty, are...
Read moreCame to grab a quick bite and drink at 9 pm as this place was one of the only sit down places still open on our way home from paddle-boarding at marsh creek. We were with some friends out of town and ended up getting up from our table and leaving extremely disappointed and hungry after sitting and being unacknowledged and ignored for over 20 mins by multiple young waitresses who would glance at us huffing as puffing because even though they were still open for another hour, wanted to go home. These girls have clearly never worked in this industry and have absolutely no work ethic and are also down right rude. There was no wait to be seated as it wasn’t busy, and we were taken immediately to a table by a very sour faced hostess upon arrival. Yet, all the waitresses crowded around the bar and were very obviously trying to avoid taking anymore tables (even though it wasn’t busy). I worked as a server for many years and would often be forced to take tables that walked in 2 minutes before closing and would stay hours past. I understand that is not fair and don’t promote keeping people working past the time they were supposed to be done, but our party of 4 would’ve in and out long before 10 pm. They had an entire hour before closing and we left at 9:30. There is no excuse for this kind of behavior and if these servers are reluctant to take tables because of poor tipping, no one is to blame themselves. This is my second and last time here. The service is...
Read moreGreat first experience and we will definitely be coming back especially since they give a military discount which is always a huge plus. The place is huge, spacious, and kind of gives a hipster vibe without feeling pretentious.
This restaurant has great happy hour drink deals and everything we tasted was fairly decent. I do wish they didn't lessen the amount of food you get for happy hour because it feels like less of a deal that way. For example I don't think one crostini is worth $5 and nor two small cheesesteak egg rolls cut in half worth $7.
We sat at the bar and I really wish I got our bartender's name but he was tall with brown curly hair and said he was new to working there. You'd never know he was new because he acted like a pro. Bartender made a delicious whiskey smash. He also went out of his way to try to hear Quizzo questions when we couldn't hear. Real champ that one.
The only real issue I had was with Quizzo. The girl who was doing it was very nice but we were assured we'd be able to play sitting at the bar and would be able to hear her... Nope our bartender must have asked her twice and we asked twice if she could speak up or turn the volume up to no avail. I knew the two of us would be unlikely to win but it's frustrating when you can't hear so much. I don't think she's the regular Quizzo host or at least that's what I think she said so I'm the future maybe we'll try again or make sure...
