I arrived to the restaurant with a full parking lot which made me hopeful. Upon walking in I had 2 other parties that came in behind me, helped first. No biggie. I felt as that I was being judged for the outfit that I had on due to leaving a cornhole establishment and deciding to grab a bite to eat before I head home. When I finally was welcomed up to the front little desk. I explained it was a party of just myself, which the resulted in grunts and growls saying hmmmmm let's seeeeeeee..... Let's see Well we have no little tables sooooo. (It was so uncomfortable I almost walked out). Finally what turns out to be the manager on duty returns and says that she found me the perfect spot at a booth. I said that's okay and follow her to be led into a middle room and to the very back corner to where she states "Well I found you a little quiet corner" The entire time feeling like I was being stared at due to my camouflage hoodie attire. I asked where the restrooms were and then come back and wait a good 10 plus minutes before anyone came to my table to ask for my drink. One would think that an establishment that is open selling various amounts of alcohol would have an alcohol menu but they do not, luckily I had noticed that they had the beer that I drink on draft when I came in so I did order that and an order of pepperoni rolls. Pepperoni rolls were very good and they came out in a timely manner. I then ordered rare prime rib which took a little longer than expected to come to the table. For his judges I felt about my attire I was surprised to see that their garden salad was literally a bag to salad with cut cucumber and sliced grape tomatoes on top. The sweet potato fries that I had to pay a $2.25 up charge for were mediocre at very best. And I personally would not consider that a rare prime rib. The same manager that seated me came by and asked how things were in such a rush that I said pretty good except.... and she said Good nice to hear it and kept on walking. Overall the best part of my experience here was the pepperoni rolls. The entire time I felt judged for my attire and as if I was a burden to everyone in the establishment for being a single party. For the $55 check that I received I would only claim that I am satisfied with the pepperoni rolls that I received. My waitress was nice but seemed very overloaded and stressed. Overall I will not be returning here anytime that I'm traveling in this area. Or recommending this establishment to anyone that I know in the area which is a hefty amount of people. Less judgment and more attentiveness to your patrons could make all of the difference in a review and...
Read moreMy family stopped in after a wrestling tournament last night. The wait was a little long for service but we didn't complain because there were quite a few people in the dining area (this is definitely a non-issue and I will explain why below). A lady, that looked to be the manager, came over and took our drink order after noticing we hadn't been helped. Another young lady, that we later learned was actually the bartender, came over to help very shortly after. She took our appetizer order then came back a few minutes later to get our meal order. Several people came over and apologized several times because of the wait. When we received our food we realized it was definitely worth the wait. My husband ordered steak, my kids ordered wings with fries/onion rings, and I ordered a club sandwich. The food was wonderful. A lady, that I assume was the owner, came over and apologized again. She explained that several members of her wait staff called off leaving her empty handed. She even explained that they were going to have to close early because they didn't have enough employees to stay open. She brought my kids out jello, fruit, fruit roll ups and Capri Sun's which made them extremely happy. Very thankful that they communicated with us about the slow service because it made us feel like they cared. We will definitely be back next time we are in town. JP Henrys is our new go to restaurant in Parkersburg! Friendly staff, excellent food, and nice...
Read moreWent in on Sunday August 22nd at around 5:00pm with a party of 7. I’m actually upset I have to give one star, I wish I could give zero. The lack of child’s menus should have been a red light to me, but I waited to try this restaurant since moving here from Philadelphia. I ordered a Ruben, it was lacking two main ingredients and was cold. I ordered water and was given it BEFORE I left in a travel cup. My Father finally got his coffee at the end of the meal, when it was ordered at the beginning. Our waitress, although VERY nice, could not handle the stress of the two tables she had. It was NOT busy at the time I was there. The place was SO poorly lit, I had to use my phone for a flashlight. The waitress apologized for everything from the overly sweet lemonade, to the crab cakes that had..gravy on them? They were horrible and left uneaten. I was just disappointed all around, from the SAD selection of food (if you have kids don’t even go) to the lack of attention from the waitress (she went MIA a lot), and after dropping 125.00 for dinner, and STILL tipping the girl 20.00, I think the better bet would be to go to Cheddars. Again, HATE writing a bad review, but I wanna save...
