The Lost Anchor — Restaurant in West Virginia

Was the first time trying it. Nice decor inside & out and cool vibe, owners & staff were friendly. My fiance and I met a couple we are friends with there for dinner and the comedy show. Out of the four of us, I was the only one that enjoyed my meal, the burger & fries were awesome! The three of them ordered different variations of chicken dinners and none were pleased... Stated the chicken was over cooked & dry. Busy night & maybe the chefs were overwhelmed. May go back & try the food again one evening when there's no entertainment & things are slower paced for the chefs. Also, the bartender did a great job attending to us for as busy as the place was, very helpful & friendly. The aggravating part was the four of us paying $80 to see the comedy show & only being able to hear about of quarter of what the comedians were saying. There were two tables behind us that would not stop talking LOUDLY. My fiance even went over & complained to the manager/owner. He spoke to them once, but it did no good. Should have politely asked them to leave if they couldn't keep it down, as a lot of customers paid money to see/hear the show. Needless to say, we left during the second comedians stage time. May try the food again on a slower day, but won't be back for any future...

I have NEVER and I mean NEVER eaten somewhere where every single meal was nasty. We had 20 people with us for a basketball tournament visiting town and not a single person ate the meals they ordered. It’s the worst restaurant food I’ve seen in my 33 years. Literally looks like they buy plain items, open it and serve it. So disappointing. Steak was ordered medium rare it came out well done with zero seasoning. The baked potatoes were so hard I couldn’t even smash them up to eat them and yes I applied force. One girls spaghetti was hard and they said it’s fine it had just been sitting under a light. Hamburger no flavor. Shrimp skewers plain. They kept giving the kids cocktail sauce when we ask for ketchup for the fries. There was no one in there but us and the service was so bad 5 of our group left after 40 mins and us not having drinks yet. Others in our party that stayed did pay our bills, leave the food sitting and left. We went to Cheddars and meals were great. So sad bc we wanted something different that was a none chain restaurant. This restaurant is off of the beaten path as a matter of fact, behind train tracks. Anyway, the parking was OK. The hostess was nice and gave us our choice of seating because the place was pretty empty. The menu is just 2 pieces of paper stapled together but had some very reasonable options and favorites on it. Our waiter was awesome. I regret not getting him name. To start or order, we had some wings with the house sauce and it was delicious. It was a flavor that I never had before. We also ordered the fish and chips. It came with hushpuppies and coleslaw. This meal was good too. With the service being excellent, no long wait time to receive the meals and the fact that it was really good had me baffled that this place was empty.
