There is so much sadness here. The film stop the most bland vanilla milkshake that has probably been served in the history of vanilla milkshakes. The photocopied kids menu cropped so that many of the instructions are incomplete — but they don’t matter because the restaurant doesn’t give out crayons with them anyway. (Mind you, you must request silverware with your meal as well, should you attempt to order more than finger food.) The bounciness of the cheeseburger patty — you may want to use a sharp knife, if they have utensils that day. The lack of availability of any beer on tap, at least when I went, depriving you of any remotely decent option given the bland choices for bottles. Oh, speaking of bland, try the chicken on the Cobb salad! There are a few saving graces. The corkscrew curly fries were a memorably pleasant twist, pun intended. Our server meant well. And the bread with the crab dip tasted appropriately bread-like. But so much is so awry here. Even the flimsy restaurant sign dangling loosely in front of the fireplace made it seem like the sign just wanted to call it quits. This is one White Horse that should not be saddled. Let it roam free into the West Virginian wilderness so that a new stallion or mare can grace this stable.

Our first time to the White Horse Tavern. We popped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Menu had a little something for everyone, with a fun beer list and very nice bourbon list. Server was friendly and attentive. Our food was delivered promptly, it was still warm, and was cooked correctly. They have a beautiful outdoor stone porch with fire pit, partly covered, partly sunny. They have live music out there too. Great idea to survive COVID restrictions. I had the Buffalo chicken wrap with a side of their own wing sauce. You can tell their sauces are homemade—this is a favorite thing for me and well worth the effort because it shows. Wing pricing is a bit high compared to other restaurants, so we skipped the wings. But my wrap was cooked perfectly, chicken was moist. Out second time my hubby got a burger. Love tree build your own burger menu—fun idea. His bun was even BRANDED with the restaurant name. Very clever. I had crabby tots, which were also good. Restaurant has WiFi and charging stations at some of the tables, which is really nice. I hope they look at their wing prices because I’d love to come back and try their wings since their sauces are homemade.

All of the food seemed microwaved. Took 2 hrs to get served sandwiches for a family of 4. Very overpriced for what it is. Restaurant was FILTHY. Trash all over the floor, dirty silverware. Waitress was very nice. Milkshakes $8, drinks $10. apps close to $10 each. $120 in total for a Sunday night dinner: 2 apps to share, 2 mixed drinks, 1 kids meal and 3 adult meals. Had the restaurant been cleaner and it not taken 2 hrs- experience would have been better. It took close to 30min just to get our drinks. Mixed drinks were very good however- strong. Guac on chicken sandwich seemed like something from a squeeze tube. **Response to reply** You seem to be missing several items from my order, which is odd since you 'located my receipt'- this includes the chicken sandwich PICTURED, and an adult milkshake- which was $8. I tipped the waitress $20, because as mentioned she was very polite- and of course there was tax. The bill was $120. I have the receipt ALSO. We were also definitely there for longer than an hour. But rather than go back and forth with me, that time could be put to better use cleaning your establishment. Have a wonderful day. We will not be back.

We stumbled on this place on the recommendation of our hotel staff. It is just off the highway attached to the Clarion Hotel in Harper's Ferry. It was good enough that my husband, who doesn't speak, said "That was good." My 10 year old loved his burger and the branded bun was a cute touch. My son just told me to "Put as many stars as you can!" I had really good fish and chips but my husband's 1 pound burger was a huge hit. The dining room was well spaced and the TVs were not overly loud. The staff was lovely and everyone was masked. The waitress even checked with me before getting my kid another soda. We spent 60 bucks for two adults and a kids meal and a tall beer for my husband. We enjoyed it enough that we went back again the next night. Caveat- They do have a small step into the restaurant so it is not ideally handicapped accessible but I'm not sure if they have another entrance.

We both ordered Cobb Salad with crispy chicken (because some reviews said the grilled chicken was too overcooked and dry). Our waiter brought out the salads without the chicken. We had to get his attention to ask for the chicken. He said he forgot to put the chicken on top of the salad. I thought it's weird that it wasn't done by kitchen staff. Anyway, the chicken was crispy and plenty. The portion of the salad is huge. My companion couldn't finish his. BTW, Google Map shows the hours on a Thursday to close at 10 pm, which was supposedly updated by management a week earlier. But when I checked with the hostess (on 11/4/2021) she said they closed at 9 pm. We would've have preferred to eat late but had to move up our dining time. I hope the posted hours on Google Map could be more accurate.

Great location- just outside harpers ferry historic area. Loved that this restaurant is connected to the hotel we stayed at. Food was decent and enjoyed the live music! Great drinks!
