Phenix Square — Restaurant in West Warwick

My son and I came here to try a local restaurant, we just moved in Coventry and this was 3 minutes away. We love trying and supporting our neighborhood businesses. I can't complain about the staff but the food was HORRIBLE. Granted, I came here once and cannot speak on the rest of the food. I usually order a special omelette wherever I go....and understand not all places are able to make it or have the ingreidents. I get all egg white, mushroom, spinach, chicken and some type of cheese (whatever the place has to offer). I got the omelet, about 30 Minutes later) and it looked terrible but I tried it anyways. The spinach, you could tell was the spinach you purchase in a bag in the frozen food aisle, the chicken/omelette in all was bland and I could not finish it. I am NOT a picky eater and I LOVE food and will eat almost anything....but I could not take another bite of the meal...every bite I wanted to gag. Me, my brother, and my fiancé have been searching for a good breakfast place nearby that’s not crowded and expensive. This place was a huge surprise, the food was delicious, the coffee was delicious, the soda isn’t watered down, the prices are amazing. We each got the man-handler which a large breakfast including pancakes or French toast. As you can see in the photo the portions are huge. The waitress was very friendly and kept our drink full the entire time even though it was just her at the time with 3 other tables and she was Cooking. The only thing that we found we didn’t like was that if you’ve never been, there’s nothing posted about if you pay at the table or counter and they don’t tell you either. So you feel a little silly. Overall we had a good experience. Food was warm. I was happy the home fries don't come with onions, but they were a little greasy and ketchup wasn't on the table. Service was decent. The place wasn't very full and it took a long time to put in drink orders and twice that to put in food orders. The waitress delivered our food and check and then didn't return. I wanted to ask for ketchup and a coffee refill, but didn't feel comfortable calling across the restaurant when she was in a very long conversation with another customer. It was our first time going there and she didn't tell me if I had to go to the register to pay or not and wasn't available to ask, so paying was kinda awkward. I was gonna give her a tip, although not a big one, but I felt really awkward and didn't hand her the tip I was going to give her. Prices were definitely affordable but not listed...
