Pro tip! If you want a buffalo brat, the store next to Terrace Grill also sells them but they are only open until 7:30 and the staff are a little grumpy. You can get them at Terrace Grill until 9:00!! We must have just hit it right as far as crowds, but we had a great experience at the Terrace Grill on Saturday, June 21. We were staying in the Mammoth cabins and we came in for dinner at 8:00, so a lot of people had cleared out of the park for the night. We had maybe two families in line before us and ordering was fast and efficient. Prices are higher than a McDonalds but it's park food, y'all! We are a captive audience so you pay more. Considering what we spent at the Fishing Bridge general store for frozen burgers, the prices here were a better value than most. We got burgers, fries, and BISON BRATS which were plump, crispy-skinned and delightful, so flavorful and served in a bun with grilled onions and peppers. Really delicious. The burgers were a good size and juicy. We actually got more fries than we all wanted to eat! My daughter was super stoked because there were not just fries, but chili cheese fries on the menu too. After dinner, we went to the ice cream counter and each got a scoop of some creamy, dreamy dessert. I had huckleberry because, when in Rome, and it was great. You can get ice cream in a cup, cake cone or waffle cone. I loved the historic building and the views from all the windows of the Mammoth area and the purple mountain twilight spreading out in the distance. It was a great last dinner in the park before we headed home on Sunday.

Mammoth Grill – 4.5/5 ⭐ Convenient Stop with Friendly Service Parking (5/5): Plenty of parking available—easy, stress-free, and close to the entrance. Service (4.5/5): Friendly and accommodating. Staff made the experience smooth and pleasant. Food (4.5/5): A bit pricey, but reasonable considering the location. Tasty and satisfying. Atmosphere & View (4/5): Not the most scenic spot in Yellowstone, but clean and comfortable with wide table availability. Convenience (5/5): Easy to find, easy to order, and well-stocked—grateful they offer so much in a remote area. Conclusion: Not the best, but no complaints. A solid stop to rest and refuel. If I’m in the area again, I’d definitely come back.

After spending some time in the park, this place was exactly what I needed for a quick bite. Prices felt pretty normal coming from California, the service was straightforward, and the menu was surprisingly big for what’s basically a fast-food spot. They’ve got Coke, and I couldn’t resist finishing with a scoop of ice cream — honestly, it hit the spot. Is it five-star dining? Of course not. But compared to everything else I’ve seen in the park in this category, it’s definitely a step up. The best part? I had my order in hand in about 5 minutes, which meant I could eat, recharge, and get back on the road without losing half the day. Sometimes, that’s all you need.

We came here because it was pretty much our only option. The food was decent. (It reminded me of a concession stand but not in a bad way.) The fries were pretty good as well as the Huckleberry BBQ Burger I got with it. In my opinion, it looked better and tasted better than the rest of what my family got. Although, the chicken tenders also looked decent, they were thin but crispy. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT EAT AT THE DINING ROOM, GO TO THE TERRACE GRILL INSTEAD!! (which is on the other side of the building shared with the Terrace Grill.) We didn’t realize it was a different restaurant on the other side so we thought we would give the Dining Room a try. It was basically a more upscale feeling but THE SAME CHEAP CONCESSION STAND FOOD FOR A HIGHER PRICE!! The server we had was sweet but she wasn’t very good. Almost all six of us got burgers (which were pretty good but again basically the exact same thing the Terrace Grill has to offer!!) and the waitress brought out all of our toppings ( lettuce, tomato, pickles) 10 minutes AFTER WE RECEIVED all our food!! 🤯 So, of course our burgers were already half eaten!! Moral of this post just go to the Terrace Grill because it the only stinking cheap and decent meal your gonna get in Mammoth! :) Enjoy your stay at Yellowstone! Also, if your looking for wildlife YOU HAVE to go to Lamar Valley in Yellowstone, that is where we saw 90% of the wildlife. No kidding we saw 3 grizzlies, a crap ton of bison, elk, we even saw 2 wolves from the Druid pack there as well as a black bear...

I can’t express how grateful I am with this establishment. At the time of my entry to the restaurant. I’ve put in about 13k steps. I was tired, hungry and ready to pass out. The gentleman noticed that we had a large group with kids. He quickly cleaned one table up and guided us over. Mind you, this is a self served restaurant. When we had our food. My little one dropped her soda and made a small messed. I came up to the counter and apologized for our mistake. The same gentleman came very quickly and cleaned it up for us. To ease the awkwardness that we had. He even brought out cookies for all our kids. That’s incredible service!!!! That’s not it. Minutes after we got our free cookies. My little dropped her hotdog on the floor. And she got a little upset. So I was going to buy her another one. The same same gentleman noticed so I told him what happened. And while I was in line. He brought me a brand new hotdog and did not ask for payment. What an incredible experience! Outta all the places I’ve traveled. This is the only one that I’ve been so impressed with that I have to write this review to express my gratitude. Thank you Joe, YOU...
