It was beautiful and interesting but certainly not the highlight of our visit to Yellowstone National Park. I can imagine that 100 years ago when the volcanic activity was different, this place was amazing. Perhaps it will regain it's glory days in the future after some seismic activity.

This trailhead is closest to some famous lower Terraces spots like liberty cap, Devil's thumb and Palette hot spring. However, parking might not be easy to find as this is a so so parking lot. You can also try to part a little north or even just park in the town and then walk to here.

AWESOME!! 🙌🏻😍🦬🦌 This is my favorite place in Yellowstone. The Elk were abundant and this geyser is the most beautiful one in the park!! If you don’t have a lot of time to explore Yellowstone I’d recommend making the trip North to Mammoth Hot springs. It’s worth the drive.
