The Deck — Restaurant in Westbrook

Terrible experience overall! We were a party of 5 and told to seat ourselves. It took about 10 minutes for the one waitress on duty to come bring menus and take a drink order and about another 10 minutes for the drinks to make it to the table. We placed our order with two simple apps and we waited and waited and waited. It took about 45 minutes for the apps to arrive and the one waitress manning the deck seemed to have disappeared. We had to go up to the bar ourselves to get drink refills, the guys delivering food asked us if we needed anything else but never returned with the silverware or condiments we asked for. After finished eating we were looking for the waitress (who still hadn’t ever come back to check on us after taking our order) so we could get our check. The bartender came by about 20 minutes later and asked us if we needed anything else and we simply asked for the check…it took her about 15 minutes to get the check to our table because not only was she manning the bar and its patrons, but she was running menus and food to other tables that had arrived after us. There was not one manager in sight to help this poor woman out! We definitely wouldn’t have left a tip if the missing waitress had reappeared but did decide to leave a small tip in hopes that the bartender would take it because none of the crappy customer service we received was her fault. I am writing this to warn the public about my experience at this restaurant. On 08/09, I was racially profiled, physically assaulted (I have picture proof of my injuries), harassed, and hate-crimed on their premises. When I returned to request the security footage to document what happened, management refused to release it unless I involved the police. Considering the discrimination I endured here, why would I feel safe involving law enforcement — especially when the restaurant has already denied me the footage I need to protect myself? Instead of showing basic decency and cooperation, employees hung up on me during follow-up calls. One even told me, "I'm Black, so I doubt what you're saying is true," dismissing my experience entirely. (That convo with the 'black' employee was between 7pm to 8pm on 08/12/2025) This is not how any ethical business should treat a customer who has been harmed on their property. If they continue to withhold the footage, I will have no choice but to share my full story publicly across multiple platforms and invite others to do the same. The truth will speak for itself, and it will reflect exactly how badly this corporation handles serious incidents. If you care about fairness, respect, and safety, think twice before giving your money to this...

Absolutely great, I been driving this road (route one) in Westbrook CT for 20 years, I seen this place and I had never wanted to get in I don’t know why, I run out of places to eat on this area, so I decided to get in with some friends, the atmosphere is quiet, the service is just normal, and then I order the appetizers and we had sweet chili peppers wings on the bone and loaded calamari and mussels, the portions of these appetizers were pretty normal/average, but the quality and the flavor and Also presentation was out of this world, then we order, New York strip and barbecue ribs, and a 1 pound burger, the portion of the steak was good. I ordered the steak medium but than they brought to my table medium well it wasn’t bad and it was still juicy, the quality flavor and amount of the ribs was just fabulous I love them, the burger we ordered it medium and they brought to a table medium well and also even like that it was delicious, for dessert we order fried Oreos, and those were oh my God just delicious, we got chocolate cake that was OK, we also got chocolate brownie sundae, our server Was the bartender, Frank he was great, I definitely recommend this place for food, and it seems to be very fun for later at night to have drinks and dance and have a good time...
