Date nite dinner gone bad.
Was not greeted when we entered, stood at the cashier/host stand while customers cashed themselves out. Got seated, the sun was setting so they opened the blinds so I couldn't see anything. The table wasn't set accordingly, silverware just plopped on table. The menu was dirty and sticky. Server didn't acknowledge us for quite some time, should have set a timer. Waitress should greet customers within 3 minutes of being seated, "even if it is just to say I'll be right with you". We ordered drinks, the wine tasted watered down and the bartenderhad to come get the waitress to remindher she had drinksat the bar. We ordered an appitizer, the waitress brought it to the table and set it in front of my date but put the appitizer plates on the end of the table. The salad bar was very disappointing, plenty of dressing choises but low on topping items. The pickled beets were a definite disappointment. Asked for 2 small togo containers but was brought 2 large 3 compartment togo containers, never offered a bag for them. Ordered ice cream drinks that are far from drinkable, low on alcohol but high on ice cream, could taste ice cream but not the mint. Was given the bill but not told we have to take it up ourselves, wasn't very busy.
The staff could use a refresher course on customer service, how to work in a restaurant and where to place items on the table.

Read moreI’ve been coming to Old Towne for probably the last 20-30 years, and since the previous owners sold, it has been as good, or possibly better, than it ever was. One difference that I miss is the garlic toast with the cheese spread and whipped dessert in the salad buffet.
I don’t want to give my secret out, and now it’s not quite as secret, but… the ribs, when they’re good, they’re like a 9.5/10 even when they’re not amazing they’re still about an 8/10
They increased a bit in price in the last year or two, but I can’t stop coming back.
I’m pretty sure they’re open on Sundays now, just waiting now to call an order of ribs to-go in. (P.s. if you’re just getting the ribs to-go it’s an awesome price again ~$26)
I just rated the atmosphere a 4/5 cause it’s nice, but nothing crazy. The views out over the highway can be a nice painted sky for dinner.
We gave them super short notice (24 hr) for a holiday party and that night they were also doing karaoke in the bar side so that actually turned out being A LOT of fun. Not advocating to give super short notice, just letting you know.
Blane even sold me a gallon of their house made bbq sauce so I could try to recreate them for my family Christmas this year.
We’re having a get together at my house in a few weeks and I will absolutely be getting about 5 racks to go.
Also, what a great opportunity for employment...
Read moreThe rude hostess set the tone. Too bad, the food is ok. We had reservations. We arrived on time, wearing our masks. She stuck us right by the salad bar- that’s right, a salad bar! As if the delta variant does not exist. I asked for a different table and was told NO. The place only had 5 other tables being served! There were empty tables everywhere. When it was obvious we had no intention of using the salad bar, for obvious reasons, nothing else was offered. All the other patrons lined up directly behind me to use the salad bar- no social distancing whatsoever. It is pretty obvious that I am disabled, since I use a cane. No worries from them! The food was just average. The atmosphere was cold. It was obvious that since we were not locals, we were treated like social outcasts. So different from Driftless Cafe! We were treated like family last night. That’s why our waitress at Driftless got a +35% tip. Too bad for Old Towne Supperclub staff. They got a tip, but certainly not a tip greater than 35%. If we wouldn’t have had to drive so far, we would have left this stuffy unfriendly place. We know where we will go next...
