The Grill — Restaurant in Westfall Township

Been passing by The Grill for many years. From the outside, it doesn't look like much. My wife & I were looking for something new after 3 of our usual haunts were closed for remodeling or vacation at the end of the busy summer. We were in the nearby Home Depot, so we decided to try The Grill, and were pleasantly surprised. From the moment we stepped in, we experienced exceptional service. The place was quite busy but we were shown to a table quickly and given our menus. Our drink order came back almost immediately. Then our waitress came by to take our order of basic pub fare. My wife ordered chicken fingers with fries, and I ordered a bowl of chili & hot wings. The food came out quickly and was nice and hot except for my chili was not as hot as I would like it, both in temperature and peppr heat. My wife said she enjoyed her chicken fingers and fries and that they were better than most other places. My hot wings were excellent. I ordered their inferno wings, which were hot but still not as hot as I like. They were, however, nice and crispy, just as I like them. All in all, I will give the food at 3.5 to 4, But what most impressed me was the exceptional waitress service . We had dinner at The Grill on Oct 25, 2021. It was a birthday celebration, party of 5. We all ordered sandwiches, burgers and salads. My hamburger was outstanding and the beer batter fries that came with it were just as good. As far as I know everyone else in our party enjoyed his and her meals. I thought the prices were a little high but the ambiance was nice and the service good. The problems started when the bill arrived. My wife had asked for something other than the fries with her wrap. The waitress suggested waffle fries and my wife said fine. When our meals came she had the fries on her plate and she told the kid who brought the meals that she had asked for waffle fries. So he left and came back a few seconds later with a huge basket of waffle fries. On the bill was an additional $5 charge for fries. I told the waitress that the waffle fries were what she was supposed to have had in the first place. This led to several minutes of explanations, confusion, and consultations with persons unknown out of earshot. The final result, as explained by the waitress, was that she took off the $5 but the waffle fries were a $4 upgrade which was added to the bill. . There is no way I believe that for a second but I just paid the bill...

I have been here probably 30 times and honestly the first 20 weren't so bad but tonight, tonight was the final straw with this place. My first bad experience with the Grill was a few years back on my sister-in-law's birthday when she spilled her coke on accident and the waitress immediately came over and gave us the check after just receiving our food ( none of us were drinking by the way ) but tonight was atrocious, they make it apparent that on Mondays it is a limited menu and they have limited staff, which is fine. We called a week ahead and let them know we had a large party ( which included very disruptive children as they will be ) when we arrived everything was fine. We were seated and drink orders were taken, however our food orders were taken at 6:22pm, we recieved our apps a little after 7pm and didn't get our dinners till nearly 8pm. By the time our table actually got our food everyone wanted to leave, not tension they messed up most of our orders, my sister-in-law didn't even get her chicken wing app and they "ran out of mushrooms" for the Swiss mushroom burger that 3 people at our table ordered.
