IHOP — Restaurant in Westfield Township

I've always liked IHOP. Unfortunately, this is one business that appears to come and go often from different areas as franchises change hands. This time though, it's replacing Truckstops of America's Country Pride Restaurant. If you remember that IHOP is primarily a breakfast restaurant, and don't expect a lot of options for lunch and dinner, you'll always be satisfied. They serve breakfast the entire time they're open at this location, but they are not a 24-hour establishment like the aforementioned restaurant used to be. Pancakes are the main staple on their menu and you can get them almost anyway you can imagine. They also have the other normal breakfast options you'd find at any good breakfast restaurant. Lunch and dinner options are available, but not as abundant. They also have a child's menu on a placemat that doubles as a page to color (crayons included) and have "clean" jokes for your children to entertain you. Childrens meals include a beverage. The best part, however, is that between 4 pm and 10 pm, for every adult meal purchased on your bill, a child can get a free meal off the childrens menu. So if three adults order meals, three kids can eat free. I don't know how long this promo will last, but as of 12-15-2023, it was still available. I would consider portions to be decent. And the price to be about normal for what you would expect to pay at a sit-down restaurant. One of the nice things is that you can pay your bill through your phone via the IHOP app by scanning the receipt. Definitely not satisfied. Got seated at 7:55pm. Waitress was very friendly, took our drink order then asked if we needed a minute to look over the menu I then said yes. While we’re looking over the menu a 12 top came in, they were then seated, got all their drinks and all their orders taken which took the waitress 15 minutes to come back and take our order. The order was put in wrong. I ordered a waffle and they gave me French toast and it took an hour for the food to even come out. Mind you the 12 top was served fed and paid within 30 minutes and they got seated after us and 2 other tables?!? There’s only two servers on shift 1 cook and 1 manager while there’s a pretty much full seated restaurant. I saw the cook walk to the front of the house at least 5 times. One waitress is yelling across the restaurant “I GUESS I HAVE TO PLAY MANAGER NOW” and the manager playing a blame game and a very sad excuse about how she had to “babysit” the cook. July 12th. 4:48 pm. I pull up to the fuel aisle I called in there to place my order which normally they will take and have ready by the time I get filled up pull up ahead in line walk in to get my receipt my food is done that's common sense way to do something but needless to say no one answers the phone so I go in before I start fueling in the rain and I see three waitresses standing there not doing a damn thing what exactly one of them was holding silverware and napkins or something the other two just standing there talking there was only one customer in the restaurant that I seen a placement order go back out getting my fuel and stuff pull up go back in in the rain again to get my receipt and get my food yes I did leave a $2 tip because I have waitressing tables before which I normally leave a $10 tip y'all got to do better standing around not doing the damn thing and not worrying about...
