Put in a mobile order for a drink with light ice before work (I work in healthcare and can’t carry a drink around with me all day, it had matcha and would be undrinkable if it melted and separated). I pick it up, go out to my car, realize it doesn’t have light ice and debate going in to get it remade. Im a former barista for the company, I know what light ice looks like, but recognize it can be a huge inconvenience to remake a drink. Since I paid $7 (over half of what I make in an hour) and have been trying to get better at speaking up for myself, I decided to ask to get it remade.
I was extremely apologetic and was as polite as humanly possible when explaining why I needed it remade, and the barista who took the sticker was understanding. To my horror the barista on the cold bar started aggressively remaking the drink, slamming the spoon in the blender, generally seeming very angry that I had to get the drink remade. By the time the drink was finished I was Literally shaking because I was anxious due to the barista’s reaction. I apologized to the barista, took my drink, and left. When I finally tried my drink, it was nothing like the original drink, and not due to the lack of ice. It literally tasted salty, whether it was from a not well rinsed out blender or the barista’s attitude, but my seven dollar drink and extra half hour before work was ruined. Completely uncalled for, and disappointing to see as a former employee of the company. Not looking to get anyone in trouble, but as someone who’s worked many busy shifts behind a Starbucks bar, you know what to expect when you clock in. If you make a drink as it’s ordered instead of trying to cut corners and save time, you wont have the opportunity to get pissy with customers. Absolutely horrified by this interaction. Great waste of my...
Read morePlaced a mobile order this morning to pick up on my way to work. When I got to the window they couldn’t find my drink a White Chocolate Macadamia Cream Cold Brew. I was told, “Someone swiped your order and we are making a new one.” Was handed a hot drink. I let the drive through person know this was not what I ordered. She stated this was the only order they had for a person by my first name. She became defensive and surly asking what I ordered and said maybe it was with another store. I showed her my phone, confirming I was in the correct location and showing it was indeed a cold drink. Her immediate reply was, “I don’t control technology.” My shocked response was, What did you say? That was very rude!” We got into a back and forth because she was not going to retract or apologize and I was not going to stand for the rudeness. I asked for a refund and she said, “That’s what I’m trying to do.” I asked for a manager and she claimed to be the manager. Ultimately I told her to forget it and drove off. Her technology comment was 100% out of line and merited an apology. This individual may posses the knowledge to run a business as a manager, but she has zero customer service or social skills. Starbucks is doing themselves and the community a disservice allowing this person to be in a customer...
Read moreI live about 2 mins. from this Starbucks & was super excited when they decided to build one right down the street from me! Unfortunately, after going dozens of times, I now drive over 5 miles, completely out of my way, to the Starbucks on Main St. because the one on Chatham is a gamble on whether they get it right, every time. Each time I go I order the same 2 drinks with 3 extra pumps of syrup. They get it right maybe 2 out of every 5 times. It's disappointing to say the least. I know they will remake it free of charge, I just don't have time for them to do that everytime, nor should I have to repeatedly get it remade. The staff are almost always very kind, the service some times takes a while, but I'm willing to wait if it means my drink is correct. Starbucks isn't what you'd consider to be a "cheap" place, so once your order comes back incorrect so many times, you consider either a different place or a Starbucks that...
