Cielo Farms Winery & Wine Bar — Restaurant in Westlake Village

What is the point of the mandatory $25 reservation? Arrived to an almost empty venue. The drive up was beautiful, but it was all downhill from there. The staff were great at answering questions about wine options...but that is where the great customer service stopped. After ordering a few bottles and some food, we were told we would have to pick up our food behind the barn. We were given a buzzer...y'know the kind they give out at basic restaurants, to tell us that our food was ready. We had to ask if anyone would help us carry the multiple bottles purchased from the bar to our table....the bartender responded with "doubt it" and then said actually ill help you when he saw the we were not amused. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem carrying my own food/wine, but at a price point of well over $300 I expect to be served.

The views were great, but the food was disappointing. If you're going to make customers walk behind a barn at least try a little harder on the food. About an hour in we noticed that other tables started to arrive, and to our surprise they were being served at their tables. This definitely put a bad taste in our mouths, almost as bad as the $100 bottle we purchased that tasted like barefoot Moscato. Also be sure to not drink too much, the walk to the restrooms is pretty far and its a port-o-potty. Luckily we were in town for multiple nights, so this first stop didn't put a damper on a much needed vacation!

I’ve been to some of the best wineries in Napa, Sonoma and France and while I love the setting of this place, the pricing is way too much. It’s $35 just to enter and that doesn’t go towards the tasting or any purchase. I’ve never experienced that before. The tastings are minimum $55 and no table serving. I’ve been to award winning wineries and it wasn’t as expensive as this place. Normally there is no entry fee, any tasting fees go towards a bottle purchase, you get personalized service at your table and the most I’ve ever paid for a high end bottle is like $70, tastings range between $25-$70 for high end wine. The bottles here are $98. I would love to come back if there was no entry free and the tastings/bottles were a bit cheaper to match the pricing of the rest of California wineries. It’s not comparable. You’re basically paying for the view (even though I’ve had nicer views in Napa for cheaper) Service was friendly and pizza is good though. Just pricing is a bit too much compared to actual high...

The place was beautiful. Now I have said everything that was positive. They don’t allow self-parking so you have to use the valet service and they don’t tell you how much it costs until you leave : 21$ no matter how long you stayed. Then, when we got to ordering. Nobody explained the wines and the average price per glass (5oz) was 30$ USD. The wine was good but nothing exceptional, specially not for that price. After an hour or so, i wanted to use the restrooms and was directed to a portable-potty trailer that was out of service and smelled up to the tasting room. So I was told to use the handicapped bathroom (also a port-a-potty) where there was a lady trying to lock the door, without success. So in this very fancy and pricy valet-parked winery, there was no functional bathroom and people had to supervise while somebody else peed to make sure nobody would walk in on them. All in all, i have visited wineries around the world and this one was, by far, the least pleasing...
