McDonald's — Restaurant in Westland

I decided to try delivering with Ubereats and received an order for this particular location. I attempted to pick up the order using the drive thru option, and received amazing customer service from the young man taking drive thru orders; however, while attempting to pick up via drive thru, I was informed that the young man was instructed, by his manager, to have all uber drivers pick up inside the location. Ok, no problem! I head inside the location and approach the counter. I’m, then, greeted in a very unfriendly, dry, dismissive tone by an older woman. As I tried my best to rationalize her actions and maintain my upbeat mood, I proceed to ask “are you the manager?” In a snobby tone, she replies yes I am.... At that point, that was my cue to grab my order and head out, but before that could happen, the woman pushed the bag towards me and asked if I could verify the order. At this point, I’m at my wits end with her demeanor, tone, and lack of professionalism. Following her actions, my tone and demeanor now shifts to that of a more serious tone. I begin to state that she can go through the bag, and I’ll verify the order through the app, as she states aloud what’s in the bag. Well apparently, she didn’t like my tone at that point and went on to state how she wasn’t trying to be rude and was informed that the driver needed to verify the order. However, I’m not touching anyone’s food especially with unclean hands, which I explained to her. While I attempted to explain, she interrupted and stated she was implying that I needed to look inside the bag. Unfortunately, looking doesn’t do much because everything is stacked in a bag. I’m not sure what would have been so difficult about her verifying the order, since the restaurant prepared it, but needless to say instead of verifying the order she walked off... extremely professional and way to go as a manager!!!! I didn’t get her name because I was delivering and didn’t want to make much of scene, since the start of our encounter was less than pleasant. I honestly came in with the intent to compliment the young man working the drive thru, but it didn’t work out that way. After this encounter, I myself will never patronize this particular location. The manager should receive training on customer service or stay at home!!! And by the way this encounter happened on January 12, 2020 around 11:45 p.m.

Awful. This one is close to my house...and I rarely go because of all the issues I have. Usually, it's a long wait, or they get my order wrong...so I do my best to avoid it. Also, the staff is rude and the food is cold. It really is terrible. I understand it's fast food, and I don't expect the best service, but I expect better than this.

Tonight was a new one. This McDonalds has two drive thrus. When I pulled up, both were empty so I picked the one on the left. I waited and waited...said hello, no answer. Then, a car pulls up at the other drive thru. We both waited for two minutes until...they took the order of the lady at the other drive thru!! I then yelled, hello, but nothing. Then another car came and they took that order!! There was no sign saying drive thru closed, yet...they left me sitting there while the serviced people who pulled up AFTER me.

I took off, went to another one around the corner and got great service. I was in and out with hot food under four minutes. The reason I'm so upset is cuz there are plenty of McDonald's that provide good or great service; however, this McDonald's consistently provides the worst service of any restaurant I've ever been to. In the past five years, I'd say 8 of my 10 bad experiences with service is from there. The only reason it's not more is cuz I've only been to that McDonals's eight times. It's a joke...it really is. It's like everybody who works there is doing something other than working, and they get annoyed when a customer shows up. I keep thinking there will be a new, better staff, but there never is. They just keep hiring the worst employees out there. I think the prerequisite to get hired at this Westland McDonald's is to not care about customer service at all. If a person applies and he/she shows they can provide good customer service, the hiring manager tells them they're not the right person for the job. They ONLY HIRE THE WORST OF THE WORST.

Whoever owns this McDonald's obviously doesn't ever check in on it. If they did, they would be appalled at what goes on there.

There's another McDonald's around the corner on Middlebelt..trust me, that one is so much better. Even if it's a little out of your way, it's worth taking the extra time to avoid a place that provides the worst...THE WORST...customer...

Lets start this story yesterday, 7/28/25 i go to McDonalds through the drive thru, get everything, whatever. I didn’t check the bag because i didn’t have a lingering suspicion anything was wrong, the girl taking my order seemed to understand exactly what i meant, she rang it up right. My order: 2 double HAMburgers (meaning no cheese), no mustard, no pickle, large fry & large coke, and ranches. Well i arrive home, sit down and boom CHEESEBURGERS… okay, i go back to McDonalds, they replaced the burgers quickly, coming home to my cold fries, whatever. Today 7/29/25, Someone picked up McDonalds for me. At McDonalds, I ordered the same thing, they already gave the wrong burgers to us, they had cheese on them, but we checked the bag. They gave us it again, looked fine, until we got home, MUSTARD all seeped into the bread, actual soggy bread. Not a single drop of ketchup on the burger or onions… fries? Ice cold from waiting to be eaten so long, ranch?? NONE. Coke? WARM. And guess what, i tried to eat the fries since I am a little hungry, I plugged the air fryer in to heat them up, BOOM the whole house lost power for a minute. I am sick after i took that first bite of that Hamcheesemustardburger, but it was too late. This McDonalds was supposed to be the good one compared to the McDonalds on middlebelt… -Honorable mention: While i was on vacation in California, we drove there and had finally entered the state, we got McDonalds. Guess what was waiting for me in my mc chicken! A nice long piece of hair I had the gift of having...
