The Alamo Restaurant doesn’t waste your time with promises. They only have good food. I recommend the pancakes because Yanira the manager cooks them outrageously well. She just has that right touch. I enjoy just about anything on the menu apart from the burgers. Go across the street for that because the price is too high at Alamo and it will disappoint. All their breakfast dishes are fantastic. The burritos are very good. The drinks are cold. You get the feeling when you are there that you’re making things work for a family and that feels great. I’m trying to recall another stand out dish to recommend. I’ve been there plenty of times. Machaca and eggs is a dish I usually wind up ordering despite wanting to try different items. It’s a favorite and they do it just right there. They have the best seafood in the area and the grill is hot for searing the steaks. So I ordered meals to go for me and my wife and our roommate my wife got a two enchilada plate with chicken for enchiladas the beans tasted burnt the chicken was absolutely Bland with no flavor. Since I got it to go I came back home my wife start to eat it and noticed that they had microwaved the enchiladas in the styrofoam box and then served it making the food tastes completely like plastic definitely not worth the $40 I spent on the meal when I called to get an exchange I was very polite a nice young man answered the phone and said that the exchange was fine and then older woman call right back telling me how it's my fault her customer service was horrible she was not compassionate she didn't care about the food she was putting out I think it's a terrible way to run the business and honestly I will not be returning there and I don't suggest ever going there if you come...

I am an adventurous eater. I don’t mean like eating puffer fish in Japan (though I’d probably do that too). I mean I’m willing to eat places that other people might be nervous about visiting. This qualifies. Why? Because it is in the middle of what looks like a post-apocalyptic ‘city’ and you can guess they don’t get many clients as a result. But these things don’t concern me. Because I value the experience even if the food sucks.
