Gofer Ice Cream Westport — Restaurant in Westport

Horrible experience. Took people ahead of us who came after. I was with a 7 year old. They wouldn’t give us samples because she said they didn’t have the sample spoons for it (had a 1000 spoons though, what ice cream place doesn’t give out samples.). This resulted in us getting an ice cream that he took one bite of didn’t like and had to throw away. Had we been able to try it before hand then non of that would of happened. The person dealing with me who worked there wasn’t rude but certainly wasn’t nice. She seemed annoyed from the beginning when we asked for a sample. Also extremely over priced!!! $15 for two small cups that she put one scoop in are you kidding me!!! ONE scoop of ice cream (maybe it was because she didn’t like us). I can get three quarts from Stew Leonard’s’s of good fresh ice cream for the same price that I got two scoops. Absolutely ridiculous will never go back here. I don’t ever leave reports/reviews like this but I’m sitting in the parking lot right now and I just absolutely had too. I highly recommend you don’t go here. I imagine they’ll be out of business within a year especially if that’s how they run things.

July 17th Update:

So I did want to follow up with my post as the owner responded and I do feel this is important for future customers. Where I do appreciate the fact that he took the time to respond to me, he did say in his message (which everyone can see) that he would refund me for my visit in the form of a gift card. I sent him an email on July 7. I wasn’t rude, I wasn’t disrespectful. I thanked Jay for reaching back out to me and wrote a lengthy but detailed explanation of the events that took place that night (of which I already talked about here). That was 10 days ago.

I have yet to hear back from Jay the owner and never received any form of a gift card. If this changes I will re update this post but as for now I cannot change my review. I feel it’s important that I share this information with anyone who’s going to read and look at the reviews. I do think his original response was appropriate, but I also feel that if it was just to write something, to make anyone who’s going to read the review feel a little better about going there and he’s NOT going to follow through on his promise (that again he wrote out for everyone to see), well in my opinion that makes the whole...

Gofer Ice Cream in Westport is hands-down one of my favorite spots for a sweet treat! They have some incredibly unique and delicious flavors – the Sea Salt Caramel Oreo is my absolute favorite (seriously addictive!), and the Blueberry Cheesecake and Graham Slam are just as amazing. Every scoop is creamy, rich, and packed with flavor.

They also make fantastic ice cream cakes. I recently got an Oreo ice cream cake for my friend’s birthday, and it was a huge hit — everyone loved it!

She then walked to the front of the store leaned on the counter and continued to face time on her phone totally ignoring me. I was the only one in the store. I finally walked out.
