Little Barn — Restaurant in Westport

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. We had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience. First I called to ask if there was any wait and was told that there was no wait at all. Only a few minutes later we walk in and were told there was a 20 minute wait. That was annoying and misleading but we waited since we were already there. When we were finally sat, a very rude waitress took our orders and then totally disappeared. 45 minutes went by and nobody checked back. A different waitress passed by us and we asked her if she could check on our food, because it seemed like our order was never even put in. She said she would let us know. She never came back either and then actively avoided us. We sat there for over an hour with no food, no service , not even a water refill. When a waitress passed by us again (ignoring us) we politely asked her if she had checked on our food, she responded very aggressively and didn’t give us an answer to the question. Another 25 minutes passed and a man finally came out with our food. We did not receive any napkins or silverware and had to wait for those too. The food was mediocre, certainly not worth the wait. When we were done we just wanted to get out of there after this horrible experience. Again, no waiter or waitress would even come check in on us, so we had to, again, wait and wait for the check. Eventually one of us just got up to go find someone to ask for the check. Overall, this restaurant has the worst service of anywhere I have ever been. They were rude on top of it. The table we were sat at was so wobbly we could not even keep our drinking glasses on it without them nearly spilling. Let's start with the food. The pretzel was quite good...after that, meh. Burger average at best; cheese steak likewise average at best. Onion rings were over cooked/burned and the coating was flavorless.

Service, not our waitress, was awful. We arrived early...5:30...because we had a child and a toddler in tow. Restaurant was relatively empty and we arrived at that time so we could get in and out efficiently and within children tolerance. The room we were in turned over almost entirely with the next group being served before we ever saw our dinners. We asked our waitress about this and received the ominous "my manager is finding out."

The manager eventually (not quickly) came to see us as all he had to say was "the kitchen got slammed." When pointed out that we ordered BEFORE they were busy, he just repeated the same thing. When pointed out that almost an entire room of patrons had been seated and served and left since we ordered, we did not receive a different explanation. He denied they had forgotten about us or mixed up the orders as well as any other credible and logical explanation. This total lack of transparency and respect for customers is what was most disconcerting. A little honesty would have gone a long way but it must have been is short supply tonight.

Ordered 2 simple items for take out sat at the bar and waited. You would think that if someone walks in and orders take out that they want to order and get out but oh for this place definitely not the case. A table walked in after me and ordered after me and they got their food around 10 mins after ordering. At exactly at 12:17 I got my food 30 minutes to get a wrap and a quesadilla. I hate to write negative reviews but seriously how can you be so inconsiderate of peoples time especially on a Sunday where it’s not that busy. When food was delivered I said bye thank you in a nice way and not a single staff member acknowledged me and said it back just the hostess. You’re in the hospitality industry train your wait staff to acknowledge their costumers and your kitchen staff to go ticket by ticket not whatever they want to put out first. Also no utensils or napkins in the Togo bag

Edit: tried the food. Asked for no bacon in my wrap due to religious reasons. Guess what the bacon was inside. Asked for no onions on my quesadilla and guess what the onions were there! Absolutely no reason why any costumer should be treated this way....
