Westport Ice Cream Shoppe — Restaurant in Westport

If I could give negative stars, I wouldn't hesitate too. I visited this Carvel location on 6/5/19 to take part of the BUY ONE GET ONE FREE sundae promotion most Carvel locations offer. Before visiting this Westport Carvel location, I went on the website to confirm they are a participating location. On their website it states they are a participating location but on my visit, I was told by the owner "Jimmy" that they are not. I called Carvel corporate office to confirm if they were part of the BOGO offer and they stated they are. Carvel stated that were going to get in contact with the Carvel owner. Carvel corporate was nice enough to send me out 7 four-dollar coupons for my colleagues and I that we're only allowed to use at the Carvel located at 1025 Post RD E. Westport, CT 06880. On the coupon its states "redeemed by Carvel Shoppe No. 947". Today Wednesday, June, 12, 2019 I went into the Carvel location and tried to use the coupon and the owner "Jimmy" wouldn't accept the coupon. I asked why he wouldn't accept the coupon and he replied hes not a participating store. I stated the coupons are only valid for your store and your store only and he replied he doesn't have to accept them. Reached back out to corporate again to let them know the problem that I continue to have with this Carvel Location and I am now in contact with the area regional supervisor. Hopefully he or she can he "Jimmy" correct his website and store "policies". I WILL NEVER BE BACK TO THIS CARVEL LOCATION EVER DUE TO THE RUDE EXPERIENCE WITH THE OWNER "JIMMY". Wow, wow, carvel is NOTHING what it used to be years ago. I purchased one small cake and a round large cake with a 6pack of ice cream sandwiches total of $105. The large cake was pending to be picked up for friday 26th. The small one and the ice cream sandwiches I received that day to blow out the candles for my daughter 11th birthday since it was a Tuesday can't really do much on weekdays. The cake tasted so bad and past due the date. The ice cream sandwiches had a funny taste to it as well. Definitely tasted like they have been sitting in the freezer for months! Plus, it was so expensive. I had to play it safe. I ordered another cake in case the one I picked up on Friday would taste just as bad! Extremely upset never going back. This store does not allow customers inside of the store. They use they summer window year round. I went in the middle of January when it was only 17 degrees outside to get my partner his favorite ice cream cake for his birthday. With only one person serving customers and 3 people in line in front of me, I waited over 10 minutes outside, which I did not expect. I also couldn't look at the choice of cakes myself and choose which one I wanted. Because they are inside the store. In a display case. Instead I had to explain to the employee, who was trying to be very helpful but not that great at it, what I wanted based on the choices on the Carvel website. Which I guess this Carvel...
