Alina’s Cakes and Cookies — Restaurant in Westport

I stumbled up on Alina's while trying to get a sandwich at the establishment next door that was closed for the holiday weekend. This is cute shop with magnificent looking cupcakes, cakes and sweet treats displayed in the case. There are also prepackaged cookies which I was told were all made on premise. There were also sourdough breads, including a sourdough baguette, and croissants and other pastries. There was also a case with chocolates and another with fantastic looking quiches. I was pleased to find out that all the breads are sourdough as it is so difficult to find a good sourdough around. This baguette was very good! I couldn't resist grabbing some walnut cookies which were delicious. However, none of the cookies were labeled with what they were and there were no ingredients listed. I had to ask exactly what they were. I could not find any price tags or pricing list for any of items in the store, including the breads. I looked on their website and also could not find any pricing or ingredient list. While this is in Westport, prices and ingredients should not be a mystery to the customers. Service was fine, maybe a bit rushed as qthe staff was somewhat preoccupied trying to find a cake for a customer who had come to pick up. Small parking lot with other...

While the cakes and cookies may be good, customer service skills are zero. I was left without a cake for my birthday party b/c they failed to fulfill an order. Even though I had proof with my email that my order was received and confirmed, when I went to pick up my cake in Westport, they said there was no cake for me. I will never buy from this place again. This bakery is amazing. This is a super appreciated change from the "posers" who mostly distribute or heat up preprocessed factory products that focus on high sugar and homogenized recipes instead of taste.  It's addicting; we are trying everything.
