Tried to place a catering order. A rather large one (14-1500$). Each time I got told they call me back at “x” time and day because they were busy at the moment. That’s understandable but that would never happen. Finally just before the party, nailed down everything and asked for something to be sent to my phone via text so that I can view everything and have my wife confirm whether we needed more food or not. They sent to wrong number. Just before they closed they called me back and I explained I had never received anything. They acknowledged it was sent incorrectly and they gave us 1/2 to decide. They did provide more time (next morning) for us to decide.
Ultimately we just passed because it was too many things. How can I be sure my food would arrive for the party without issues? Callbacks, sending info to wrong numbers?
Wanted to try them so bad but just to risky given the experience I had. Ultimately my wife ordered from a local place and it went off without issue. Too bad because heard they were good.
Update: Yes I could’ve called during rushes etc. but if you tell me a time you’ll return my call, try and be on time or close to that time. Several times when you called me back, you were hours away from the time you’d say you’d call me back and then have to say you’d call me back again because you were busy. This was your return call to me.
As far as delivery, you were charging me extra for that time which I replied within second I didn’t care about the extra cost because I wanted to try your food.
As far as return calls from me, I have a party in planning. Which I’ve reached out to you with due time to make sure everything wouldn’t been fine. Instead, we were down to the wire and based on the lack of accountability regarding returning my calls when you’d say you’d return them (all I have to go on) and then making mistakes with numbers…..how can I be sure ill get my food without an issue the day of? What if you’re a little late?
I know you guys are growing and I’m sure the food is good. No doubt but these little things have me pause because they can have huge consequences to me if you handle delivery the same way you handle calls. And, I’m like here….take my money. This wasn’t like you needed to sell me...

Yeahhhhh now this is the kind of bbq and ribs I've been looking for! I love southern style bbq and soul food. Shout outs to my other 2 local favorites of @auntbertaskitchen and @blowinsmoque
These ribs were packed with flavor! They are grilled competition style, which means they aren't falling right off the bone. They have a pull to them, and your bite marks will be seen. This is my preference and how I even like to smoke my own ribs. Look at how beautiful that glaze is on the ribs. The bbq sauce was so good that next time, I'll ask for an extra small cup of it on the side. I understand not mopping it on though because the meat and the smoke are the stars of the show, and I am more than happy with that being so. Let's talk sides real quick. The mac and cheese is the bomb. It's easily a top 5 mac and cheese you'll eat in the soul food category. The collard greens, perfectly crunchy, perfectly peppery, perfect salt ratio for me. Whatever juices it was sitting in, I drank it up.
Big Swerve is the real deal. I will go back for the brisket next. I got a recommendation from a customer who drove over an hour away to get this bbq to not sleep on the chicken as he was taking home 4 of them with him. You also never know who you may run into, like one of the owners at @brynnbradleycheesesteaks getting his Big Swerve fill on (pleasure to meet you by the way).
Needless to say, I highly recommend checking them out!!! Follow them on instagram...

My buddies and I had a few years where we were competing with each other. Out of that came the best ribs I’ve ever had in my life. Big Swerve’s is so extremely close to our ultimate ribs, it’s insane that that level of quality can be had from a restaurant. The accessibility of this level of ribs is dangerous, lol.
I’ve had ribs everywhere. St. Louis, Memphis, the Carolinas, etc. and the best I ever had were from Rendezvous in Memphis. Big Swerve’s gets close to those with a minor fraction of the staff Rendezvous has.
The greens are awesome. Spicy heat layers and excellent flavor, texture, and consistency. The mac and cheese reminds me of the star mac and cheese I had at a repass I went to a few years back. My buddy’s Aunt would be mad as get out, if she heard that.
My wife got the pulled pork sliders with the slaw. The sliders are BIG. She only ate one, I had the other. It was awesome. I don’t think the pulled pork is smoked, which I prefer. It makes for a juicier sandwich.
The cornbread is a must-have in my opinion. It is on par with the best I’ve ever had. Rich, thick, sweet, textured. Don’t pass on that.
Bottom line, I think I found my new obsession in quick serve food.
If you are in the mode for some BBQ, and you go to Mission BBQ when Big Swerve’s is an option, you’re a fool and you deserve...
