I go here all the time. I work at a busy ice-cream shop so I never expect much from the workers because we have a similar set up and it’s very stressful. However, they are always so nice, and I’ve never had a mixup with my order even though they’re dealing with food, drinks, and desserts. Which is amazing given how busy they are. Once you get the hang of their system for the line and ordering, there really shouldn’t be any problems. I just wanted to leave a positive review because I saw a woman be very rude to the staff and even other customers in the store today. She was being very demanding to the staff, making comments about the amount of staff and their genders, and I saw her make a the couple next to her extremely uncomfortable by bringing them into her situation unprovoked. She made a staff member come and clean the booth, and the whole time they were doing that to make her comfortable she was standing right up on them all while complaining about the place LITERALLY in their face. Then she proceeds to complain to the couple SHE made uncomfortable about the store. I saw a manager (I think) come out and speak to her and be so kind to her, regardless of her horrible behavior. She brought her food over, asked if she needed anything and offered her a coffee. She was so sweet to her. The staff handled it incredibly professionally!! I’m so sorry you had to deal with this experience!! You guys...
Read moreI was waiting to actually try the sand which I waited 40 minutes for with my husband before submitting this review. My husband was eager to try this place he had heard about on Phantom Gourmet and I’m always happy to oblige. When we entered we were greeted but rushed into making an order. Our order was quite large including treats from the bakery, drinks, and sandwiches totaling about $60 dollars plus the tip we prepaid for. At 11:53am we were given a pager to wait for our food by the not so pleasant dark haired older woman behind the counter. At 12:23 I went to the counter to ask one of the teens to add lettuce and tomato to one of our sandwiches that presumably were still under construction, she obliged and went out back. Minutes later she returned to tell us that our “ order ticket “ had disappeared apparently. She apologized and returned to kitchen. At 12:37 my husband asked if we could get our sandwiches to go. The sandwiches finally appeared at 12:46. No apology. No courtesy from the woman who continued to avoid us after losing our ticket. Sandwich was not what was ordered hence this review. Would not recommend unless you have time and money to waste. Really unfortunate...
Read moreDecided to check out Muffin House Cafe for a morning pastry since I was in the area. This was my first time coming across one, so I didn't realize it was a chain.
The inside was very spacious, and there were people eating and working but no line. They have other pastries besides muffins such as doughnuts, cookies, and croissants. They sell sandwiches as well.
I got a blueberry muffin because that seemed like their most popular based on reviews. It was $4 for a decent size. The inside was moist, but the top had a crunch. The top was too sweet because of the sugar crystals, while the rest of the muffin was almost bland, which is better than the entire muffin being overly sweet, but I would have preferred the flavor to be balanced throughout.
Overall, it wasn't a bad muffin, but I found it comparable to the large blueberry muffins from BJs or Costco, which isn't necessarily a dig as many people enjoy those--it is only to say that I was satisfied but would not go out of my way...
