This establishment presents an intriguing blend of exceptional service and a refined interior, located in Islington, off the beaten path of Dedham and Norwood, it sits in a newly developed center of shops and offices. Parking in this location can be challenging and tight. I wanted to love everything about this restaurant since its obviously newer, yet its culinary offerings leave room for improvement.
The restaurant excels in hospitality, with staff providing prompt and courteous attention that enhances the overall dining atmosphere. The sophisticated, downtown Boston aesthetic of the interior creates an inviting setting, contributing positively to the establishment's reputation.
However, the culinary experience does not consistently match this high standard. opening appetizers of fried mozzarella was delicious with a side sauce that was delectable. Matching this, the veal parmigiana was also excellent, with plenty of cheese and portions were abundant. However I was truly shocked at the signature spaghetti Cacio e Pepe is notably bland, missing the vibrant spices and pepper that would normally elevate its flavor profile. Similarly, the veal dishes side spaghetti lacks sufficient seasoning, resulting in a flat and unremarkable taste that falls short of expectations. In an environment where service and ambience are exemplary, these under seasoned dishes detract from the overall dining experience. This was truly disappointing and turned the meal from an excellent start to a sad finish. This once again proves, good Italian outside the North End is hard to find in the suburbs.
The contrast between the impeccable service and the disappointing execution of key pasta dishes suggests that a reassessment of the culinary approach, particularly in seasoning and flavor development, is warranted and this restaurant hopefully improves over time since it seems like its off to a good start. I may come back in the future to see if it has...
Read moreWe hosted a buy-out party at Neroli Ristorante to celebrate our wedding a couple weeks ago and we couldn't be happier with the entire process! If you're considering hosting a cocktail or dinner party like this we highly recommend considering Neroli.
From the beginning of the planning process the entire team, and Joanna (event coordinator) in particular, was so responsive, accommodating and really just made the planning process and event night a breeze! Big events like this can often be stressful to plan, but I can honestly say we were not stressed about it once. We had a say in everything form the decor, to the layout, the menu etc.
We hosted 140 guests and there was plenty of space for people to sit and eat, socialize and dance (in the back room). We were able to bring in a band, which was set up in the back room and was a great dance floor. We had full access to the terrace, which was a hit because the weather was so nice. We started the event with passed hors d'oeuvres and some hors d'oeuvres stations which were delicious. We opted for buffet dinner and open seating which worked out wonderfully...the way the team laid out the restaurant was so nice and allowed for people to easily get their dinner, sit and eat while leaving plenty of space for others to mingle around the restaurant. We've had countless comments from guests about how good the food and service was...which was not a surprise to us given we've eaten at the restaurant many times, but a great feeling to know that everyone enjoyed it just as much as us!
Every single person who worked the event was so amazing and extremely kind...thank you to the team at Neroli for making our wedding...
Read moreMe and my party made a reservation at 6:45pm. There was no parking so we had to find an open spot across the street. I had to walk with crutches for my broken knee so it took us a while to get over, leaving us a little late for our reservation. When we checked in, our RESERVED OUTSIDE table was not ready and we continued to wait for a free table for 30 minutes. They called us to bring us to a table in the dining room, where we explained we had wanted an outside table- which was stated in our reservation. The host brings us outside finally to an empty patio. Why were we waiting for a half an hour if the patio was cleared? Mind you, the host apologized a couple of times which was thoughtful- the manager Ivan on the other hand, was very dismissive and did not apologize once for the inconvenience. He even cut me off as I was asking for an update on our table and with attitude said “you’re next.”. Our service was very slow, the busser brought us water and bread and we continued to wait for a server for 15 minutes. Drinks and food were good, however my friend had knocked over her mostly full drink- in which the server came over, grabbed her empty glass, and walked away. I get it, I’m a server myself and it sucks when someone drops their drink. But for it to be basically full, and the server not ask if we’d like a second drink, is not good service!! The server barely checked in on us besides when it was bill time. I don’t know if Neroli staff was having a bad day today or what, but the way we were served and treated by manager were disgusting- learn how to treat people...
