Sad how far Starbucks has fallen. Used to be a fun place to go with good service. It is unbearably bad now. Employees may as well be automatons. They are mostly devoid of personality and humanity and rarely smile, make eye contact or care about service. Lines are always long and there is almost always an unreasonably long wait. Mobile ordering is often turned off and they close early every day. They are constantly out of items and restaurant in not sparkling clean like it once was.

Ummm, NO! Other restaurants and retail have figured it out. Starbucks had their BEST FINANCIAL YEAR EVER! Over THIRTY BILLION dollars in net revenue. But in their miserly ways, can't figure out a way to pay a few more dollars to fully staff their restaurants and keep regular hours. It is preposterous. No wonder employees are pushing to unionize in other locations. I don't blame them. The miserable and poor service is a reflection on the way they are treated and paid...not on them as humans. I feel bad for them but have zero empathy to Starbucks. Read moreWe visit the US for 2-3 months every year, and the Starbucks in Westwood is a favorite for morning coffee and/or breakfast. We have always had a great experience but can't the same for today!! Sam at the counter was very helpful but Sean (apparently the Manager) was not so friendly. As visitors, we usually pay in cash, but they had an issue - it seems they did not have enough cash in the till to return the balance. Sean reprimanded the staff and loudly enough (and long enough!) for me to notice that it was directed at me. They should just put up a notice - '$100 bills not accepted'. Anyway, I took the hint and digged out several 1s and a couple of 5s to pay the bill. No harm done. But it was unpleasant at 9am. We run a hospitality business in Asia and understand the nuances of customer service wherein the 'happiness level of a customer ' has evolved from 'customer satisfaction' to 'customer delight' for most businesses. I have never adored a Starbucks as much as this one! The climate is amazing. The baristas are amazing. The drinks are AMAZING!
I ordered a caramel iced coffee and never have I ever had one better!! The barista who made my drink seriously knows what she's doing!!! Words can not describe how amazing of a barista she is! After I drank my whole coffee, I got another and was lucky enough to meet the woman who made my drink! She was so sweet and gave the best energy! You can tell she loves her job! I told her how amazing it was as I was ordering another!
