I've never posted any complaint for restaurants because I'm able to typically solve matters directly with management via a phone call or email. However, that is not possible with this location. The phone number says that are 'not accepting calls at this time'. And their customer service is a chat that clearly uses ai and cannot function correctly.
My wife and I ordered drive thru on Sunday 9/21 between 130pm and 145pm (around that time frame). We ordered the #1 sandwich combo with fries, a doctor pepper, and a pie. The total order was roughly $17 and some change. This morning I looked at my bank statement online and I was charged $26.66! How is that possible? I tried to call the number to get this corrected and I cannot get a hold of the restaurant as if the phone is basically disconnected. I reached out to Popeye's customer service online and they don't have any human beings answering the phone. It disconnects the call and prompts me to deal with an online ai chat that also leads to nowhere.
I don't want to have to contact my bank to let them know that this was a fraudulent charge before talking to someone, but there are no other options for me to speak with anyone unless I go to the restaurant itself, which is way out of the way.
This has been a terrible customer experience and I am not recommending Popeye's to anyone. These situations could be avoided. I'm sorry
there is no way for me to reply back so Iâm placing this here as an addendum. To the owner who responded, thank you for your response. I do not feel comfortable sharing my last 4 digits of my card but I can come into the restaurant tomorrow in person and share the details if that is ok. Thank you. I look forward to a resolution and I hope you see...
Read moreIt had been a while since I had Popeye's so I drove to this Wethersfield location on Saturday, 8/16/2025. I saw they had plenty of chicken, seemingly freshly fried, all trays filled. I noticed one of the employees working (young lady with long pigtails) in the back. She was chewing up a storm, putting me in high anticipation for me to get my order. The young man who took my order, very nice and professional (I guess to hide his true intentions) but when I got home and saw my order of 1 thigh, 1 leg I began to wonder if I had just come from a SOUP KITCHEN. what I found in my bag made me wonder how he had no shame in serving such dog scraps. There were two teeny, tiny, burnt ends I assume that's what he thought were chicken legs, and what was supposed to be a chicken thigh, appeared to be a half of thigh, also, burnt to a crisp. I couldn't help but to wonder was that employee in the back eating the big, nicely fried pieces, leaving the pitiful scraps to be served to the public. Is that what all the nice pieces are for, your employees? You all have got to do better. Please consider, if what you are about to serve a customer, would you feel comfortable serving to your own mother. I wasted my gas and ended up still having to prepare...
Read moreMy cousin & I went to a concert last night that got out late. We googled what time popeyes was closing before driving there and it ended up working in our favor. We pulled up and the sign said lobby closes at 1am. It was perfect because it was a little after 12midnight (when we arrived). My cousin asked for her shrimp to be tossed in a certain sauce (like she has had before at popeyes) and the person who âtook care of usâ said they couldnt do that. Needless to say, my cousin got what she requested. Okay, so we sit down in the lobby and 5mins or so went by and the same person who âtook care of usâ advised they were closing early due to short staff. Mind you there were 10 mfers in the back (very visible). They closed the restaurant 40 mins early and I think they were lying and being evil. I hope they see all of their bad reviews and fix their attitudes and customer service. Please spare me âautomated popeyes manager responderâ, you will not look into the matter. Thanks...
