The Cove Deli, LLC — Restaurant in Wethersfield

I rarely leave reviews, but after my experience here, I felt compelled to share. From the moment we walked in, the service was inattentive and disorganized. We waited over 20 minutes just to get menus, and when our server finally approached, they seemed rushed and uninterested.

The food did not redeem the poor service. My entrée arrived lukewarm and bland, clearly not freshly prepared. My partner’s dish was overcooked and overly salty. To make matters worse, one of our side orders never arrived—and when we brought it up, the staff seemed confused and never followed up.

The ambiance, while promising on their website, turned out to be loud, cramped, and poorly maintained. Even basic cleanliness seemed to be lacking, with sticky tables and unclean cutlery.

Now i’ve had bad food but i’ve never had an experience as bad as this. I heard some good things about ‘the cove deli’ in Wethersfield from some friends so going in i was hopeful. I went in around lunch and it wasn’t too busy i was greeted got a table and my drink quickly put my order in and after maybe 10-15 minutes my food was finally done i got a cheeseburger ‘the george washington’ and a cobb salad. the salad was disgusting slimy wet leaves like the salad had been sitting in the fridge for days the cheeseburger was bland and overcooked, i ended up running into the owner on my way out and he seemed a bit rude with a know it all attitude. Beautiful restaurant nook "hidden" in perfect site right on the Silas Deane Hwy, I've driven by a thousand times, not this morning. I walked in around 9:30 and their were no customers eating in their cute dining room area, lots of customers picking up to go meals. I went traditional 3 over easy eggs, English muffin, hash brown, hash browns, extra side of bacon. Everything was excellent. Eggs nice and greasy and cooked over easy, the bacon was beautiful, the English muffin was huge and crispy, and the two potatoe choices were both the perfect ending.
