My first time eating here under new ownership was fantastic! It was busy and for good reasons. I tried the duck tenders with a side of sweet potato fries. The duck was so juicy and tender with great flavor! Better than most duck I've had at more expensive restaurants and the raspberry duck sauce on the side was delicious even though the duck certainly didn't need any sauce. The sweet potato fries were also fresh and delicious! My husband had the "Big Buck" venison burger which was also amazing! When you visit Wisconsin, it’s all about the sausage. JD’s delivers an excellent breakfast at a reasonable price. The menu has both small and larger portions to fit any appetite. The staff is friendly and attentive. There is plenty of parking, but be forewarned that this has become a very popular place and there may be a short wait. The prices are okay and the food was good. The service wasn't that great, at least not when I was there, it was slow. Three servers stood around doing nothing for a good ten minutes or better. When an order was up it took five minutes or so before anyone looked at it. When my food was ready my waitress was behind the counter, didn't seem busy but she never even glanced at the plate after the bell rang and another waitress delivered my food.
