Update: Unfortunately today I called at 2:55 for a lunch special that I would pick up I informed them and was told the lunch special time was over. Lunch special time ends at 3. Even their website still offered it to order and it's set up so lunch specials only show during lunch special times. I did mention to her that it wasn't 3 yet & it was my cell phone clock & accurate. She still said no, sorry. So I said forget it then. I get food from here a lot! I even took the time to write a positive review (below) BUT after what just happened I have to take off stars for service. I am very annoyed that they would not honor their posted and still active lunch special hours, especially as I would pick it up and let them know that. I also am not going to order from here anymore going forward. I can get a lunch special even with an appetizer which isn't even in Chen's lunch specials, anywhere up to the end of lunch special time elsewhere. After all I wasn't asking for a lunch special after the lunch time end, I did call before. Being mean to long time, frequent customers is not the way to keep them. Be warned if looking to order a lunch special before it ends, you will get turned away, don't bother just order somewhere that actually honors their posted specials hours.
This place Chen's has delicious food, I just wish the lunch special came with an appetizer :). The veggies seem fresh, the staff are nice. This is a new place, new owners and only here 1-2 years tops, the old negative reviews here are not for this place, they are left over for the old place that...
Read moreI ordered from this place yesterday and will never order from there again. I ordered shrimp with lobster sauce and upgraded to lo mein and mapo tofu. When the food arrives there is pork on EVERYTHING. As a pescetarian, that means I can't eat any of it. I've ordered shrimp with lobster sauce several times before and it has never had pork in it. Same with lo mein. I hadn't ordered mapo tofu before, so I googled it then and realized that it traditionally was made with sausage. Ok, that's my bad - I won't complain about that.
So I call back and ask them why the other dish is covered in meat. They say its always covered in meat and if I was a pescetarian I should have said so in the notes of my order. So I said that I've ordered this dish from plenty of other Chinese restaurants and hadn't had to do that, but ok I can't be too careful and will not it going forward. They said they would send me another dish that would be pescetarian.
To their credit, the dish comes right away. But when trying to grab tip money for the delivery man my dog got out. Obviously not the restaurants fault, but the ensuing chaos meant I didn't get to look at my food till hours later - and guess what it was still COVERED in sausage.
I felt bad for the food waste but I don't know a single person who eats meat & so I had to throw everything away. I won't order from here again, and advise anyone who has food restrictions to avoid this place as well. They clearly do not care about...
Read moreMy brother and I have been driving by for a while and wanting to try it, so today was the day.
I went in as soon as they opened and got a pile of takeout. Super people, and short wait for how much I ordered.
Chen's is definitely fine Asian food. The Singapore mei fun was good, not too greasy and just the right amount of spicy. The chicken and broccoli with brown rice could be the best we've ever had: Perfect veggies and rice with chicken that's very tender without being too far-fetched. (My other brother calls that kind of chicken "alien meat"!)
Then come the siu mai. Steamed not fried, delectable, great in the spicy mustard or soy sauce dips.
We are going to be regulars at Chen's! Was pleasantly surprised to learn they offer bubble tea; looking forward to trying...
