My experience today fell short. We ordered the biscuits and gravy and chicken fried steak and I have to say the gravy had the most distracting taste and huge pepper chucks. So much so, that we couldn't eat that part of our meals. We didn't have them take it back only because it was our first time ordering those. We also got burnt toast, literally. We did send that back because it was uneatable, I mean black on the edges. But the bacon was amazing. The service was good except that we were first before 2 other tables and she took their order first. I also don't like that we couldn't type in our tip to the machine. The waitress asked how much tip we wanted to leave. So I asked what the food total was and she told me the total of the ticket. So I asked again what was the food total without tax and she looked at me as if she was offended. I'm sorry, but tip etiquette is to tip on the food total only. Not the total bill. You're not supposed to tip on taxes. Most people don't realize that.

This place has been here forever and it's a no frills, absolute best breakfast, place you can get. The Farmers breakfast is difficult finish even for a large man such as myself with a healthy appetite. I am every bit of 250 lb and rarely met a food I didn't like to finish but this is challenging plate even for me. The wait staff is attentive and the food is hot and there's plenty of it. The prices haven't been raised like most places in Denver so if you want to go someplace and get a good breakfast that's hot fresh made to order this is the place for you in Wheat Ridge. It's full of regulars in the waitresses know most of them by name. I'm super impressed with the quality of what I ordered everything was cooked perfectly. Wifey got the chile relleno breakfast smothered and that was out standing as well.

Down home diner eats and vibes at this beloved neighborhood spot. Very popular place to eat among the locals and you write your name down on a notepad for a table. Really friendly service, flowing coffee that goes down smoothly, and very hearty food. The blueberry pancakes were full of fresh blueberries and we couldn’t stop eating it. We had the Mazatlan breakfast burrito (eggs, bacon, avocados) with green Chile and a generous side of the most crispy yet soft hashbrowns. The chicken fried steak was smothered in a super creamy and flavorful white gravy. Generous and really yummy portions!

First time eating here alone and hated my experience. First I stood around waiting to be acknowledged by staff or anyone at all for about 5 minutes because the book for signing in was nowhere to be found near the barely visible sign that mentions adding yourself to check-in. Once I was acknowledged I was told to sit wherever I wanted when not a single open table was cleaned and ready for its next patron. I sat patiently after the table was cleaned before a very unprofessional waitress named Renee halfway appeared to take my drink order. Renee was behind the backrest of my booth taking someone else's order while I waited and when she was ready to take mine decided to take my drink order from over my shoulder rather than introducing herself and asking properly at my booth face-to-face what I'd like to drink. I had no clue she was even attempting to take my drink order until the repeated "sir..sir..sir" caught my attention and only then did I realize she was taking my drink order from behind my booth and out of view. She then came back with my drink and asked to take my order but quickly became visibly annoyed when I asked for another moment to look over the menu as I had not yet decided what I wanted since the menu had many options ranging from breakfast to lunch items. After asking for another second to look over the menu the service and attitude went downhill from there on. At one point while I was waiting for my food she stood behind me briefly bad-mouthing her co-workers to another waitress on staff and it made my whole dining experience even more awkward. There were no smiles or an upbeat personality at my table my entire visit but she showed the greatest enthusiasm when taking care of the regulars she knows by name across from me. Eventually, the food comes out and it's just ok. The pancakes are overcooked and not soft and even break apart in huge chunks cause they need to be torn essentially to be eaten. The rest of the food was on par for cheap diner food so I can't complain but the service and attitude just made the already subpar food taste even worse. When I am through I take my check to close out so I can leave and rather than acknowledging me again or thanking me for stopping in, Renee decides the conversation she is having about the strawberry cake she just made is more important than me, so I end out waiting with the check in hand at the counter for her to finish, further cementing the idea that I should have left when all the other red flags showed themselves. When she finally stops her conversation and charges my card she asks what tip I'd like to leave on the card and I reluctantly say 20% only to be charged 25%. The extra dollar isn't the end of the world when it comes to my financials, but when her service was as horrible as it was I didn't even want to leave a single cent to begin with, so the extra 5% was the icing on the cake. I definitely won't be back or recommending Apple Ridge to anyone down the road. Renee needs training and so do other staff on professionalism and how to make guests feel welcome. There are a handful of other diners in the area that are more welcoming, affordable, and professional that I have been to and would rather visit and recommend. Apple Ridge should consider all of these things when treating new potential customers so horribly. I recommend creating a better check-in system and more training of your staff so that your next visitor has a better...

With confidence, I can say that this is one of the better breakfast places I've been to around town. The food is fantastic, the portions certainly are generous and the price isn't bad either. I ordered one of their combination breakfasts that consisted of blueberry pancakes (I still think about them on a daily basis), eggs, hash browns and a side of meat. I was able to share it with my 3 year old son, who has the appetite of a 9 year old, and we still couldn't finish everything on our plates. The blueberry pancakes were life changing. The bacon strips were HUGE and they gave us more than 2 which is above average for a breakfast place. If you can get there early enough, or call in for pick, you HAVE to try a caramel-pecan roll. It's in the cinnamon roll family, only cooler and better looking … and probably gets more chicks. I would love to give this place 5 stars, however .. it's small and if you don't get there early enough, you have very little room to wait for a table to become available. That's not even something to really complain about, because I feel the food makes up for it, but when we went, I had to take my son to the bathroom, which is outside around the back of the building. It wouldn't have been that big of a deal if they had been clean, but they weren't. Thank god it was my little boy with me and not my little girls, because he is small enough to hover over a toilet. Give this place a shot. Hopefully the bathrooms are clean when you go. I will be back to try it out again, because we are in need of a regular...

We use to go here often pre covid-19. In fact we have our own special name for this place "the hot chocolate cafe". In the past when we dined in. There were no problems to speak of, and if there were I believe they were addressed immediately. Since Covid-19 we have not ate in any establishment. So this morning for my wife's birthday we decided to have a breakfast picnic. So I got on line to order from their menu which was on Zomato.com I guess there is one on Facebook but I don't have a Facebook. Anyhow it was the second option in my google search and first with menu in its headline. I placed my order and went to pick it up the price didn't seem right. Went home ate breakfast I had the 2+2+2 and the pancakes were hard and burnt I didn't eat them. I began to do the math off the menu provided online and noticed a 10.00 difference. I went down to resolve my concern and they had and attitude that they did nothing wrong and there is nothing they will do to make it right. Their menu is different from in house and on line and somehow that's my problem. You would think with most restaurants dishing out to go orders they would want to address this immediately. Needless to say I will not be returning and will pass...
