We took our son here to celebrate his birthday. Let me start by saying that he had picked this one of all the Rec centers. I was in shock when we got there and all the children were out of the pool, We were told that it was "adult Swim" I was thrown by this as the pool has kids slides and it is clearly a kids pool. 10 minute passed and they let the children back in the pool. 45 minutes later, again the children were pulled out of the pool! I was told that for 15 minute every hour they kick the kids out of the pool for the Adults to have the entire pool! They already have their lap pool but they feel the need to shut down the water slide, kiddy pool and the floaty area for 15 minute for Adults?!? I was applauded! I was even more upset when I was sitting on the stairs of the pool (not even in the pool but sitting on the stairs) where the water could cover my 2 year old daughter so she did not get a chill while my husband grabbed her towel and was yelled at by the life guard that Children had to be out of the pool right now! We were planning on having my son's birthday party here but not anymore and I can promise you that we will not be back to this pool! Paying for my kids to get kicked out of the pool every hour! NO THANKS!!! Go to a different pool there is plenty to choose from that allow children to be children for the whole time you pay...
Read moreIf you're a powerlifter or weightlifter I do not recommend this gym. Clean entryway and pleasant receptionists seem halfway interested to see you there. Decent sized locker rooms and some large lockers for big duffle bags. Upstairs is the weight room and many cardio machines. There's a track running around the entire second floor so you can easily do a lift and run if your training calls for it. My experience included a handful of folks not re-racking their weights, not wiping down the equipment after use, and one lady thought spitting on the indoor track (5 steps from weights) was appropriate. There's a nice range of dumbbells from x to y, but not many duplicates. A few benches with inclines, one squat rack and one Smith machine. Very few cable systems. No visible or remotely convenient places for deadlifts. If proximity and cheapness is your priority, you'll get cheapness here and can still get a good workout. The pool however looks large and may be worth a day pass or membership if that's more involved in your training plan. If you do intend on using this as a powerlifting or weightlifting gym you'll have to get very creative and won't be able to follow many off the shelf training plans requiring specific equipment. Additionally you'll want to find the least busy time to not be hindered by the...
