Such a hidden little gem! Our family of 4 dined for breakfast shortly after opening, on a Sunday morning in wintertime. We stepped up to order at the counter, & owner Linda, was very pleasant. Her menu has a variety of breakfast items for everyone - from veggie omelets, to quiche from scratch, to French toast, & of course, homemade pastries. Our oldest ordered the French toast & it looked sweet & delicious (he devoured it before I could try a bite, unfortunately). (See photo) Our youngest had a homemade maple bar - omg yum. It was so fresh that it was still warm! The hubs & I each had the croissant breakfast sandwich. (See photo). So yummy! Good cut of ham, melty cheddar, & fresh scrambled egg. A side of fresh berries was served alongside the entrees. The atmosphere is quaint & cute - eclectic mismatched solid hardwood tables & chairs with fresh flowers on the tables in a historic mason hall. We sat at a table right at the window & there is a lovely view of the Nehalem River. We’ll definitely be back anytime we take a trip to Rockaway! ...

Stopped by on road trip, thought it would be a nice stop in rustic town. Disappointed in everything, from service to quality of food. Coffee, bitter and tasted burnt, asked for caramel and there was no flavor at all, no milk or cream to latte Donuts were heavy and dense, like a bread not donut. The raspberry cream cheese Danish was not pastry dough, heavy and dense like donut, the cream cheese was non existent. There was NOBODY in this place at 11:10am and was told we could not sit down or dine in. Will NEVER come here again, recommend to keep driving, there is another bakery not far up the...

This place is a gem on the coast. Everything we had was delicious and carefully crafted. Best maple bar I’ve ever had! The frosting made from scratch with real maple syrup!! My croissant breakfast sandwich was perfectly portioned, eggs cooked perfectly. The hash browns were so good I didn’t even put anything on them. No salt , no ketchup….nothing. Also made from scratch, not dumped out of a bag from a factory. My wife really enjoyed her omelette and cinnamon roll as well. Great view of the bay! Super friendly staff. You can tell they really take pride in making great food...

Food was really good and filling. The lady at the counter was so sweet and it was a great experience with the fresh flowers on every table and the cleanliness was great. Quiet and perfect atmosphere. There was only one other table when we walked in and when we left we were the only table. This place should be busier with how good it is! Maybe it’s busier earlier in the morning. Where we sat it was such a beautiful view of the river. If I ever come back to this area I will be back here for breakfast!

We decided to start the day with a hearty breakfast at Handy Creek based on the reviews. My Latte was really good. Mike said his coffee was OK. We both got the 2 egg breakfast and it took over 20 minutes to get out meal. It was really busy and only two people to cook, run the register, make coffee, deliver food, etc. I think it would have been so much better had we just ordered a Danish and coffee. The staff is very friendly, and a good location.
