Gander & Goose — Restaurant in White Salmon

Apparently when you buy rounds for those around you and have a tolerance you are cut off. I was excited to maybe have found a location to enjoy locally but alas I was wrong. The spicy tuna I got was tasteful but the rice was borderline gummy due to the approach and the amount of tuna seemed small compared to the size of the waffle Iron prepared rice. The cucumber salad part was refreshing though but only added to the seemingly small amount of tuna.

The service was personable and attentive. I can only speculate that those that are outgoing and intolerant would be told they are done. Yet again a great example of why I don’t venture out locally. I was not rude, foul mouthed or involved in any confrontation with anyone whatsoever but when deciding to have another with my wife who was picking up was advised out of the blue I was done.

I defy anyone present to say I was drunk or even severely buzzed. I don’t post this in argument of my state but rather to call out the BS I was given for my lack of service.

We found Garner & Goose on the Gluten Dude app, which was the only dedicated GF anything in this entire area of the gorge. Their menu is naturally GF and I don't think most of their customers know or would care. Their food is just amazing. Most people unintentionally eat GF food all the time, because many things can be, unless it is fried, or sandwiches, or other typical pub food. Wonderful space on the main strip of white salmon. Very cozy, intimate space with a small and well thought out food menu and the best cocktails I've had in the area. From thoughtful twists on classics such as the Lower Manhattan to the bright and refreshing Persian Summer, and an extensive Amaro selection, everything was delightful and had depth.
