(In my Beastie Boys voice) Don't. Sleep. On Brooklyn!
This place just opened a couple months ago and I've been meaning to stop. It's the closest thing I've had to a NY slice in Cbus. The crust is foldable but not sloppy - just slightly crisp with those airy crusty bubbles. Cheese was all the way melted and sauce was that typical slightly sweet style that isn't cloying. It's $2 for a slice the size of the plate! I got one of each slice available: regular pep, beef pepperoni, cheese, and veggie. I do not enjoy fresh mushrooms on pizza because they always overpower the other vegetable flavors. I was so pleased to get my canned mushrooms, that blended well with the peppers, onions, and tomatoes. These slices were so good, only one of them actually survived the car ride home.
I only gave 3 stars for atmosphere because it's a small, sparse space with limited seating. This place is designed for takeout: there is one table for 2-3 and a high top counter with chairs that might seat 4. But it's one of those hole-in-the-wall establishments that does things really well. And for as small as they are, there is decent parking. They also have rib tips, wings, gyros, subs, salads, and dessert, whole pies custom or specialty, and even a two foot 'monster pizza'. Go help out this small Eastside business and get a very tasty bang...
Read moreCame here for the first time yesterday because it came up on the Columbus foodies page. I was looking for the cheesiest sloppiest NY style pizza and this is not it. I paid for extra cheese but it didn’t seem like it was. The taste of the pizza itself is not good but also not bad. Reminds me of little ceasers cardboard taste. It’s just OKAY. So I am still on the hunt for the best NY style pizza in the city. Papa John’s Shaq NY style is the best to me so far but I KNOW there’s better out...
Read morePizza was below average. I wouldn’t order it again. The crust had a less than desirable taste. It reminded me of pizza out of the box. The wings were not to bad. The sauce was good but the wings themselves could be seasoned better. Building was warm and stuffy. Done in wouldn’t really...
