If you don't know anything about downtown Whiteville, you'll have a hard time finding this jewel. Literally tucked in a back alley behind Furniture Depot, Anthony's was such a joy. Quiet, relaxed atmosphere, fresh, tasty entrees..no stouffers style cuisine here! Courteous wait staff and the food tastes like someone really enjoyed making it for you. Perfect for a small group of friends (4-5) or even a date night. Update 2022: My first experience was great. My 2nd time, horrible. I won't be back. Maybe there was a different cook, I don't know. The service was ok, and the food lack luster. I could attribute it to being busy, but the place was almost cleared by the time we got our food & it was basically full and or filling up when we got there. The locals love it and I'm sure will continue to support it. I don't intend to make a special trip again.
UPDATE: Dec 2024 Love the new location. The service, food, and waitstaff were Excellent! Glad...

My boyfriend had Cheesy Bread as an appetizer, baked ziti with garlic bread as his main course, and cheesecake for dessert. It was all so amazing I literally could not stop eating. Aside from the food the ambience of the restaurant itself is cozy and nice. The wait staff is friendly, professional and they serve you quickly! Highlights: Sauce was to die for (both Alfredo and marinara), the mozzarella cheese was fresh, Bread...

It's structural integrity is remarkably nostalgic, - it exuded authenticity, given it's historical significance and design. Borne of a casual inquiry of the antiquity of Anthony's, discovery yielded a little known Trvial-Pursuit nugget - the original intent and function of the building was that of The City of Whiteville's 'JAIL'!! Here's a pun for the history teachers: talk about the Liberation of...
