Del Taco — Restaurant in Whitney

Its really great to see these fast food restaurants representing kinda how In n Out opperates. Yes, sometimes mistakes are made like every other fast food restaurant but I haven't had a bad order yet. I've noticed the food is tasting much fresher here than I'm used to at other Del Taco's it seems. I'm starting to think that the cooks that work either the morning, noon, and night shifts know what they are doing. I ordered the Bean and Cheese Bold Burritos and the Beer Battered Fish Tacos, always taste really good. I've seen a manager present everytime at this location which is unheard of these days, and always see a lot of professionalism coming from them. I was sold after seeing them that someone really was managing this place well and great to see that happening, seemed that there are awesome managers at work! I can only assume that the management is above average here because the rest of the staff is always on point and really friendly. From taking orders all the way to sending you on your way, I've never had a problem. I met one associate named Blanca yesterday who absolutely was the most friendliest, speaker/order taker from the drive thru window I've ever experienced in my life, I have to say. This includes from any other Del Tacos, or restaurants, including all In N Out restaurants I've been too! It really makes me happy that people know how to earn others business! I see that this Del Taco has a lot of reviews and a not so high score, coming from someone who just moved here from CA I can see why bad reviews sometines are generated. But this location is really stepping up the level of service, in all areas of the operation. So I hope this review can inspire the staff mentioned to continuemaking this place excellent, and encourage customers to give a review if their experience was like mine so we can bump that score up! Normally this is my spot for fast Mexican food, but these past few times I have been here it's been ROUGH to say the least, and this time was the straw that broke the camel's back. My fiance and I came through the drive thru and the wait is always long, at least 10 minutes just to get to the box to order. The order taker proceeds to take our order and as we were ordering she didnt hear my fiance's order correctly so I repeated his order and heard nothing so it was basically a fingers crossed kind of moment that his order was right. We decided she probably was new and that the long wait and line was probably due to that. So we got to the window where she verified 1 of our beverages and then continued to tell us our total. When she rang my card I asked for a receipt because we ordered 2 for 5$ del burritos and the 6 dollar chicken taco box as well as a large beverage that came to 18 dollars. So I just wanted to see the receipt. She handed me our drinks followed by my card and our food, and as she handed my food I asked for hot sauce and my receipt again. She just threw my bag on the counter and the put hot sauce with out asking which kind and handed my bag back pretty rudely. I asked once again for my receipt, and then she slammed the window and started rummaging through her receipts on her counter and was VISIBLY annoyed and angry. It was pretty disappointing for a customer to see that reaction. We waited for a couple of minutes and just left because she was not coming back to the window and my fiance just didnt wanna wait anymore. To top it off my food was wrong. The easy order was wrong. Well first I order my food and let me tell you Sam he did amazing at taking my order. The girl at the window was sassy and just trying to hand out my food fast so she could get the next order. I told her I wanted the macho one and she said this is the one I order. I was in my head thinking maybe I don’t need such a big one. Then I asked her to put sugar for my coffee and hot sauce in my bag and I felt like I was bothering her when I asked because she had a really bad attitude. I drove off and was going to eat a Chili fry while I was driving. Then I open it and the sugar packets are all over my food. I was high mad because people’s hands have been all over the sugar packets. I turn back around, go through the drive through and while I’m talking to Sam she’s looking at me with attitude. All I wanted was my correct order and for it not to have sugar packets on top of my food. Sam he fixed my order and he was so nice when I came back to make sure I have the best experience. After that I was happy because I got my food, but got home to eat it and some of the fries were still frozen and some were old and hard. Should of went to Taco Bell. Only would come back for the nice hospitality...
