Pho-Ology Plus — Restaurant in Whittier

This has been my all time favorite Pho place for a very long time. My friend and I would come here whenever we found time. We started to notice bad service but we are servers ourselves so we had an understanding of what a bad day felt like. Then it got worse. EVERYTIME we would come in, service was bad and they were always so rude. we asked for chili paste and our server actually rolled his eyes at us. They would approach and just stare at their iPad with no greeting or "what would you like?" if they said something it was "ready?" never making eye contact with us. My friend ordered the chocolate lava cake ( a warm chocolate cake served with ice cream ) and after waiting about 20-25 minutes of waiting very patiently we asked the server who looked like he forgot which AGAIN is okay no problem it happens. He then brought her a cold dessert with no ice cream. we called him over and after we explained it was cold his response was "so?" I mean at least offer a new one or take it off the bill, but nope. We continued to put up with the attitude because we absolutely love the pho here. The last straw was an order I called in. First off, the server did not care to even place my order and was very rude. My friends and I love chili paste so if it comes down to it, we do not mind paying at all. I asked him over the phone for extra and his response was "I'm only giving you 3" ummmmmm okay ? like I said if we have to pay no big deal but he didn't even say "it will be extra" just a straight no I'm not doing that for you kind of response. I said okay and he literally just hung up the phone. Didn't ask if I was done or anything. So my friend goes inside to pick our order up and she asked the server about the chili paste and he then decided that it would be extra, and stumbled making up a number when she responded and said it was fine. The business owner must not care about the business I guess. I also wrote on yelp because honestly as a server I am very disappointed at how rude and unprofessional they are. As a server, I have a great understanding for what it takes , people are picky and customers can be rude! I get it, but i am not going to put up with this kind of service. Worst customer service ever cashier was super rude. I politely order a veggie pho ,an order of egg rolls .. I really don’t think I showed up and order my food in a rude way. Cashier seems to be so bother ordering my food the whole time . After I placed my order I I politely asked her if she can please put extra lemon and cilantro, I repeated myself like two - three times . She said “ she heard me” I just felt her mean energy… Again before I left, I asked her again, if she packed me extra lemon She said yes.. Something told me to double check my bag once I arrive to my car. Well , Cashier did not bag me extra lemon . She gave one dam tiny piece of lemon . Like how pretty can you be in be rude and not give me extra lemons just because you’re having a bad day. I was annoyed because I politely asked her and double asked her and she reply with “ She heard me “, & with her nasty attitude…..

It would’ve been different if she forgot like OK I understand, but she really did that on purpose….because the minute I walked back to the restaurant and explain to her that she didn’t give me the extra lemons I asked for .. Not an apology at all! it’s like she was really going back-and-forth with me and arguing she’s only allowed to give two..but only bag me one tiny little lemon in a bag , one lemon .! I did express myself and told her how rude it was and and just kept going back in forth about how she only allowed to give me two lemons. but I asked her for extra lemons and she replied with “ I heard you” and you didn’t bag it because you didn’t want to after I politely asked you…. After moving away for a few years, I was surprised to know that this place was still around. Out of my excitement I decided to pop in on a Saturday around 1 o’clock and walked into four people playing a card game in the back. Was seated right away and had my order taken right away, but had the other three people playing cards continuously look at me the entire time while talking, I not only found it Rude but found it very unprofessional. I sat there while trying to eat, but the lady with short hair would not stop looking at me and talking, and I felt very uncomfortable and did not appreciate her staring. Within this time, someone walked in to deliver an order and decided that they wanted to order something for themselves from your restaurant, but your servers continued to play their card game and decided it’s not realize that she stopped looking at the menu and was ready to order, but instead she walked out without ordering something for herself. After I called them out for it they laughed. Absolutely horrible. I asked for containers to go and the three once again decided to laugh and look at me the entire time until I said stop looking at me. I am shocked that you are still in business; must be just for the to go. Because Dining in-service was absolutely horrific. When I asked where the manager was, she said he was not in and his name was Sam. Good to know you’re wasting money on employees that just sit around...
