Raku Teriyaki and Sushi Roll — Restaurant in Whittier

Excellent prices for sushi. Not a lot of room to sit down, no actual dishes to eat off of (just paper/plastic plates and trays) and not much charm in the atmosphere there, this is a place to order to-go. The fish on the sushi was a bit warm for my taste, but everything tasted delicious anyway. I had to try the super dragon roll as the pictures looked amazing, and I have to say it didn't disappoint. Overall I really have no idea how this is the highest rated sushi place in Whittier, when there are probably sit-down restaurants that get the atmosphere right (though they're probably more expensive). However that doesn't mean I won't be back, on the contrary, I will probably order from these guys again, whether through pick-up or through a delivery app. For these prices I'm not sure if you can best their sushi, but I've yet to try every sushi place in the area as I just moved to the area. Will update when I've tried a few more places. As it stands I'm sure you could find tastier sushi, but at what cost? These guys do a great job for a great price, and try to make you feel at home for the short time...

I've been here a couple of times. The first time I went a young man assisted me. He was extremely friendly, it was actually refreshing to see a young person be this great at customer service. If he's still working there I sure do hope they appreciate his customer service skills as this is one of the reasons I decided to come back and eat here again. The second time I came in, a very nice woman assisted me. Everyone is very friendly bur most importantly, the teriyaki chicken plate and beef plate I ordered was very good. Its hard to find good teriyaki places. The chicken and beef were good cuts with hardly any fat on them which I love not to have to worry about when eating my food. Pricing is reasonable. First time here for dine in. I enjoyed the teriyaki salmon with California roll, veggie tempura, rice and steamed veggies. We also ordered the chicken teriyaki. Both dishes were served in foam to go containers, nothing wrong with that but it feels more like take out than a dime in experience. The food was fresh, served hot and we enjoyed the Teriyaki flavoring and dipping sauce. My only comment and why this review is short of 5 stars, is because there is no public restroom. I feel the fine in food establishments should give the consumer access to the restroom. And I’m a green tea lover, there is no green tea only black tea.

Parking is easy and food was served quickly.

Overall a good dining experience.

I would return and bring green tea...
